So far I am absolutely loving Halo 5: Guardians. Then again, I’m a rarity because I loved Halo 4 as well. However, what I really want to talk about is how 343industries has aesthetically fleshed out the Halo Universe with it’s designs in-game. Honestly, I think I’m in love. Just kidding! But seriously, their designs are epic. Sure it took time adapt to due to everyone being used to Bungie & their designs. For example, Forerunner structures. They used to be cold & angular silver & rock gray, sometimes literally rock. In comparison to the 343i design, which are are much more sleek & rounded with some angularity all while being this reflective silver with bright neon blue or orange trim, the old designs are dull.
But my favorite thing about 343industries & their awesome aesthetic designs is how they redesign & remake older maps. But there are two maps from Halo 3 that I think would perfectly fit Halo 5: Guardians as remade maps for multiplayer or Forge. These maps are Guardian & Epitaph.
Guardian was designed from an originally scrapped Halo 3 level know as the “Guardian Forest.” In this level, you were to encounter massive sentinels known as “Guardian Sentinels.” Eventually they were scrapped as well. However, they were revived & redesigned for Halo 5: Guardians. They are simply known as Guardians now. So I’d say that this map fits the theme pretty damn well.
Epitaph on the other hand doesn’t have much to do with Sentinel Guardians except for the big damn hologram of one in this massive Forerunner spire smack dab in the middle of a desert. Honestly, besides the hologram connection, this maps doesn’t have much to do with Halo 5: Guardians. I just find it to be a fun & beautiful map.
So what do y’all think? Are these maps worth remaking or are there others you would prefer?
