New Map packs a total waste of money

That crap doesnt belong on Reach! It has nothing to do with Reach so what the heck?? Ive played all the Halo’s and the new maps just suck…period. A waste of money! Think I will go for a refund and buy it used later on

Why not just combine them all?? 2, 3 ODST, Wars…make them all one big happy family.

I sure hope Halo4 is not somehow intertwined into Reach as well…

Edit: Maybe I was a little harsh, the campaign mode will hopefully make up for it…Still they should make its own LIVE gameplay.

simple solution

don’t buy them

already buy them?

maybe you should have done some RESEARCH on the maps before you bought them

don’t blow money away people!

ok, so how about now you actually tell us whats wrong with the maps?

> ok, so how about now you actually tell us whats wrong with the maps?

Well the 5 or 6 Ive played so far are too small of an area, for 8 people running around and too many areas where you get hung up in and cant move, or dead ends and the magnum should be removed…
They need to give it (Halo 1) its own domain separated from Reach.

I would agree with you. I have not played them, but what I think 343 should have done was just make the update and then make the maps for Halo 4. Most halo fans hate reach. and 343 is for the fans. The best thing they can do it fix it with the update, but now was anything good on this game. Save the good maps for halo 4. Bungie created a huge mess with this game, and i think 343 should just give up on it.

Honestly I think it’s a great value 7 new remade and rethought maps for 15$. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Well REACH is good too I think, just different. IMO they are all good in their own way just keep them separated…

No way man, I’ve played a few and I love what I see. The maps are more balanced than the Reach maps (no side getting better spawn points) and they are very well thought out. Try playing them (or watching a game) before you comment, 343 did a much better job than Bungie and the “balanced” community maps (which are less balanced than the default Reach maps).

To be honest with all of the cross gaming etc. i would have thought of them doing the same with ODST.

Halo: CEA should have been two discs, Second one being soley being MM including the Noble, Defiant & anniversery map packs on the disc, Im sure ALOT of Halo players would have been happy with that.

But they release CEA, with a CODE for your REACH disc for the multiplyer disc and the CEA only has the ANNIVERSARY map packs making both the noble & defiant a technical waste of money.

So in the end of this is that those who purchased CEA gain a brilliantly HD modelled campaign thats the origional in every manner including glitches & bugs etc. and added new Graphics, but at the cost of a Full multiplayer experience.

Have fun

I’m liking the new maps. Really cool they came with H:CEA

Man, people love to WHINE on here. CEA was always billed as shipping with new maps - it was not billed as including the full Reach multiplayer component as ODST did. Pay attention to the promotional materials released before the game and get over the fact that when you want to play Reach maps, you have to put a new disc in to play Noble and Defiant. Because if that’s your gripe, re-read your comment and pay careful attention to the fact that you think Anniversary should have had a multiplayer-only disc anyway.

I agree the maps cost less than a loaf of bread each and last a year  you cant argue with that, timberland and Headlong play great with reach settings, some of the smaller maps feel a bit small because they are using 120% run speed, once they fix that the maps will feel a lot better

I actually agree that Noble and Defiant should have been included, I bought all the DLC, Noble and Defiant were 800MS each and Anniversary was 1200MS so in real money that was £20 for 3 packs, the Anniversary game costs £30 so i think they should have got the other DLC in with it, also that would have been a good thing for people who bought the old DLC as it would mean those maps would have been much more likely to come up, so we would get better value out of them, as it stands right now they were pretty much a waste of money

The maps are fine; I just wish that I wasn’t forced to play them only in Anniversary/Update gametypes. I really, really hate that stuff and thanks to the vast, whining majority, now I have to put up with it.

That being said, I do think that better value for money could have been gotten from releasing a completely dedicated Multiplayer disk, a la Halo 3 Mythic. The Noble and Defiant map packs hardly get any love and if 343i want to keep the fanbase going they need to figure out ways of keeping things fresh - that don’t just cater to the pandering fanboys.
