spoiler for MP maps the new map is called vortex and is large, grey (from the storm clouds overhead), and appears to feature btb and other large vehicle supported gametypes. heres some pics halo4nation.com it is going to be the last map in the ten set series from the start of the game.
War Games:
Adrift- old mining facility lost in space
Haven- forerunner plant
Exile- wrecked ship in ravine
complex- unsc’s forerunner extraction site
abandon- old science facility attacked by strange and unknown species
longbow- snowy human base mass driver facility from war
meltdown- a forerunner plant suffering radiation from a meltdown in the facility
ragnarok- remake of valhalla
solace- an odd forerunner facility
vortex- stormy forerunner/human structures thrown about/ not much is known

hmm well you forgot alot of btb maps also work for dominion, flood, 4v4/5v5/ snipers, and occasionally swat, and i think they wont all be btb but just be large to support the sprint changes

so we complain the MP maps are too big and the forge maps too small? haha everyone calm down, dlc will come and right now with unlimited sprint it would be slaughter to play maps like arena zealot without it being 2v2

Adrift is huge and segmented, perfectly suited for large teams.
Haven is again huge but is actually small enough to support 4v4 but barely.
Abandon again, is huge Not at all suited for anything less than 5 or 6 player teams.
Solace is nearly big enough for BTB infantry…

I never complained about the forge maps, they look great! I just play more on 4v4 playlists and maps and I would just prefer one more small, symmetrical map to have in matchmaking.

you misunderstand me. im saying with unlimited sprint and the changes with halo 4 it will be much too small

i know, i was talking about the rest of the forum posters making posts about there size, but oh yeah i totally agree! smaller maps are fun but i can see what there thought is becuase of unlimited sprint etc with the larger layouts and such and plus snipers, flood, and btb will get alot more variety now

I just don’t see it. When I think more of Halo 2/3’s movement speed and universal sprint, I see Haven/Adrift/Abandon being too compact with 6v6, and overflowing with players.
Solace looks like Narrows/Lockout/Boardwalk(very minimal) and I do not associate it with BTB whatsoever, more like 4v4-6v6 and pushing it at 6v6.
