The tactical magnum costs 4 reqs, which doesn’t compete well enough against other level 4 req loadout weapons. It should be brought down to level 3 reqs imo and the gunfighter brought down to two reqs (which has terrible accuracy).
Hmm does it? I will provide my feedback after downloading the really small patch lol.
Are the new magnums still 5 shot to kill? If so, then i think level 4 wouldn’t be too bad since the fire rate is increased so much.
imo i think its perfect right now level 3 req for a pretty decent gun, and level 4 for an amazing gun, i don’t think it should be changed. In all my games i used the level 4 magnum when i was at level 9 and i did better with DMR and tactical then DMR and h2br. Besides it so fun popping marines heads with it.
I quite like the tactical magnum, not as fond of the gunfighter. I might use the tactical magnum a bit at level 4, but not above that. I don’t see myself using the gunfighter at all.
Just my two cents:
- The tactical magnum does feel good (in terms of stealth) but it’s not that appealing to me simply because it deals the same damage (but slightly slower fire rate) as a normal magnum.
- Gunfighter feels like a gamble. High risk from fire-rate, but high reward in close encounters. Becomes useless starting from mid-range. Not worth lvl 3 reqs.
The problem with the Gunfighter is that you absolutely only need it in two or three instances. Base Defense, long range (away from base, in terms of range) marksman duty, and of course, as a fast backup to any sluggish weapon you carry.
Outside of that it is quite useless in Warzone. I have found however that the Tactical Magnum is a generally superior choice to the Gunfighter in Warzone, as its scope is just plain better than the standard pistol’s, given that there’s absolutely no obscuring and I’m certain that the aim-assist range is longer. But I can’t be too sure.
Gunfighter is perfect for Arena though. It should, without debate, replace the pistol as your standard Arena sidearm, giving you even more reason to find a precision weapon (even though the Gunfighter has exactly the same accuracy as the other three variants.)
No seriously I think that the Gunfighter is exactly what we need in the pistol for traditional Halo gameplay. maybe just a tiny bit more powerful, but it’s an extremely good backup/response weapon. A much better sidearm than the M6H2 standard. The standard pistol is basically a primary weapon, that the Gunfighter can even play second fiddle to.
The Gunfighter’s job is to be a fast response when you’ve got nothing else to use or what you’re carrying just is not suitable for CQB use. It’s my favorite of the magnums for reasons of game/weapon balance and design, though my personal favorite to use in a broad sense is the tactical magnum. To the point that I would honestly take it over the BR or even the DMR, at least until I get a DMR with a COG sight.
Then the TacMag is gonna be my sidearm late game in Warzone.
I agree with the gunfighter being implemented in arena, but from a warzone perspective its not worth unlocking at level 3 reqs. The tactical magnum is the superior choice but once players hit that level four req mark they’ll be accustomed to choosing more versatile and higher fire-rate weapons, such as the SMG, battle rifles, later on DMRS, especially when enemy encounters become farther. The tactical has a higher req level cost, which is why I think 343 should lower the req cost down to 3 for the tactical and 2 for the gunfighter. Both these two guns could be ideal loadouts during these levels as they can compete against the standard br in terms of range and damage. It’s better for players to have these magnum variants earlier in matches and later on carry it as a sidearm and such. I’ve been carrying the tactical magnum a couple of games and I wished I could unlock this sooner at level 3 reqs simply because once u hit level 4 reqs and beyond there are better guns to replace this with. I think more players will find the tactical magnum to be an unreliable and unpopular weapon choice to hold onto at its current req level.
I think the gunfighter is much more suited for Warzone Assault. Tactical magnum too but a more versatile option. If you were to fight against a BR with the gunfighter at close midish range, gunfighter will win if you do it right.
