New Lockdown update...

NO MOTION TRACKER!?

Usually I would like motion tracker but here, for Lockdown, do you think this might actually work? At the moment you see an enemy on your radar advancing through a door way and chuck a grenade in there to either disable their shields or kill them, but now with no radar you will have no idea where they come from, especially with no turrets/shields to destroy giving away their position.

Most of you who have played Lockdown will know that it doesn’t play the best, so I am really interested in how this will change things up.

So, isn’t this just like KoTH but you need to press a button?

I guess, but it only has 1 base that never moves, Lockdown requires quite a lot more teamwork and skill to be able to ‘lockdown’ a base or take over an enemy controlled base.

So, then it’s regular KoTH with only 1 hill and you need to press a button to own the hill? I don’t see the difference between slapping down a Hill Marker or a Dominion Terminal in the base and having players defend it, other than pressing the button that is.

Well it’s not as easy in Lockdown to own the base/hill because not only do you have to take all the enemies out, you also have to hold the base constantly with at least 3 people or you will be overrun. The fact that you get 10 points every 20-30 (can’t remember how long exactly) instead of a constant stream of points makes a huge difference to gameplay as well.

Another big difference is while normally in KOTH the hill is out in the open and very vulnerable which is mostly why it is called ‘hill’ while in lockdown it is normally inside a base that is quite easy to ‘camp’ in.

This is a good indication as to WHY radar was removed and so were the shield doors and turrets. Now it absolutely requires teamwork and not just spamming grenades over and over as people run in. Now it takes logical fighting.

Exactly, and thats why for once removing the radar will actually be a good thing instead of a bad annoying thing. I am really excited to try Lockdown when the update comes out.

Motion Tracker made setups and pre-nading way too easy for the Defenders.

Shield Doors slowed down the Attackers for too long.

Sentry Turrets damaged Attackers that overall need their shields to be able to actually dig out the Defenders.

Glad all three are going to be gone on Monday. This update will make Lockdown play greatly. I love the concept, but at first, it didn’t end up playing so well. With this update coming, it will play much better.
