I love playing Invasion. And not the weird variants in the playlist. I would like to see new maps that features the classic Invasion game type. I would love to see a map pack that features nothing but Invasion maps. Or at least two out of three maps. I would even settle for community made maps.
I completely agree, like many people i play invasion 99% of the time, and even after buying both DLC packs they only included 1 invasion map.
And you can’t even play breakpoint in the invasion playlist, i remember how even if you were not in a playlist that required all the DLC in halo 3 if every player had the DLC, then the maps would still show up in other playlists.
I seriously think 343 should take the time to create new maps for the invasion playlist, just forge them. And that they should just be given to us at this point. And i mean 343 themselves make the maps, not just throwing in some crappy community creation for the hell of it, because that has absolutely ruined competitive play for me. I honestly don’t understand what bungie were thinking when they created this amazing game type, and only 2 maps, honestly its just cutting corners.

Agreed. I really wish they would make people have the maps. Especially after a certain time frame.

- 1 out of 5 multiplayer maps is a high number. Be grateful
- Making more maps won’t help. If Breakpoint shows up what makes you think other DLC maps will?
- They also don’t just “throw in” community maps. Often times they are better designed then the original ones. The maps aren’t bad because they’re gray.
- Cutting corners? really? Reach already has so many different ways to play. Bungie pushed out a ridiculous amount of content in this game. I agree that 2 maps isn’t enough, but Bungie was definitely not cutting corners.
There are plenty of fantastic Invasion maps out there, made by the community. I’m sure that at least some of them are large and balanced enough to be implemented into the online multiplayer realm. Every other playlist got community maps, so why not Invasion?

becuase everyone is to busy playin crappy living dead.
Maybe if we put together some sort of mass community made Invasion maps to show we are trying to get a bigger variety then they might consider it? 0.0 Just constantly asking and not providing anything to show you want it doesn’t help …
I’ve played close to 500 Invasion games, and have maybe played Breakpoint once in the Invasion hopper. Would love to see community maps in the default Invasion hopper.

In response to number 4 … That’s why most of Reach is just copy + paste from other parts of itself or just really badly forged maps … Not to mention within like 3 months they released a DLC >.> … Erm yea they did cut corners … Reach fails hardcore and you’re butt hurt to see people say so

Strange then that the most popular playlist hasn’t received an update in a long time, nor has it ever received new maps (it still uses The Cage while the rest of the game uses Uncaged). I’m actually glad to see this, it shows that 343’s priorities lie with more mainstream gametypes.

As someone else has pointed out 343 does seem to really listen to the community. So MAYBE if this thread becomes big enough we can get new maps.
How about this idea. What if 343 took the top fifteen or twenty downloaded community made Invasion maps and play tested them in house. Then they release the top ten play tested maps into a beta hopper and after about a month of of public game play, put it to a vote for the community to decide which of the top three will make it into the regular Invasion playlist.
Just a thought.

Well a way to get supporters to the cause would be to show that maps are already being collected and worked on … Just saying >.>
I used to play Invasion a lot more than I do now. However I was constantly getting put on teams that had a majority of AFK players or quitters, causing me to get spwan killed for almost the entire match. I have recently started playing again, I agree I would like to see more Invasion maps also.
I’ve played over 1000 Invasion games and I think this needs to be 343i’s next update.

Well if any1 has made a pretty good invasion map why don’t they post on here the name of their maps and every1 on here can download and try them cause sifting through list after list of names of maps is tiresome.
I’v made 2 invasion maps so far Uplink and Last Defence and I’d like to see what other people who really like invasion have done, cause some maps i’v downloaded haven’t been that good.

Mind posting links to these maps? Videos of people play testing these maps? … Come on people … Seriously >.> Get the hint … No evidence means nobody wants to support the cause. That means 343 isn’t going to think about it … Show them people in the community really really want this by getting maps together. Getting various play test videos of each map getting played in custom games. Sitting here asking but not showing anything to back it up does not get what you are asking for done …
This has been an ongoing effort since the early days. Invasion is one of those things they just want to let go.
