New infection idea

instead of counting how many kills someone gets, why not how long they survive.

its supposed to be a zombie survival gametype, not how many zombies you kill.

it’s simple, add one point for every second you survive, two points for every zombie killed

zombies get two points for ever person they infect

what do you guys think about this idea?

Makes more sense than the current system

> Makes more sense than the current system

i know right?

Thats an interesting idea, could work if executed right.

But I think it’s more to be fair to the zombies. If it was based on survival time, then those unlucky enough to be zombies every round wouldn’t get many, if any points and have no chance at winning the game.

But that’s not an good excuse. 343 should be able to make it so everyone will be zombie at least once. I mean many other game has done it why not Halo?

Also I think this idea is amazing. Virtual cookies for you! (::slight_smile: (::slight_smile:

yea, it’s not perfect but it’s an idea, may give the zombie a 100 or something right off the bat and give him 5 points per kill or something

somehow i’m always the zombie, i hate it

343 must see this. D:

I don’t play infection, but that was a pretty cool idea

It’s cool in theory, but I see a serious problem with camping arising from this.

Humans should score by survival time, Zombies by kills.

Split the lobby into two teams so it’s half zombies/half humans and every round the teams just switch roles.

teams will encourage teamwork instead of individual score and make matches much more interesting with zombies working together and humans working together.

In order to promote less camping, humans should get bonus points for kills. Removing the magnum as a starting weapon will also force humans to have to get closer to zombies to kill them instead of just picking them off from afar.

That just completely changes the game of infection.

A better solution would be to return to Halo 3’s style of infection. Wait a while after release before introducing zombies, and when it’s introduced, make sure there are a variety of gametypes and zombie-specific maps.

Halo Reach had/has the problem of using default maps, which are never good for infection, and practically 1 gametypes (infection and alpha zombies are practically the same). In addition, we need to bring back the setting that made the next round’s zombies the top scorer from the previous round. That ensure that you don’t have 1 person scoring tons of kills unabated.

Well, Halo 4 seems to be all about changes things so why not?

Because, again, you are changing the fundamental idea and play-style of infection. It becomes a team-slayer varient instead of a unique take on FFA.

That would be cool

Sounds like a good idea. Give it like a oddball, or king of the hill style of ‘you earn a point for each second you’re alive’. Also give the zombies points for their kills but make sure the points for the zombies are high enough to compensate for this system

Perfect idea!

Make sense to have it survive mode as a game type. Another thing that would be cool if they make maps from the ground up and make it with max players this time around.

Or you can just mix in other gametypes… each zombie you kill a skull comes out and zombies score double points for each skull they hold when they win?
Mix headhunter with zombies!
