New idea for the core system

I’d like to preface everything I’m about to say with this: I’m not a fan of the core system. It shouldn’t have been implemented in the first place, for several reasons which I will presume most on these forums have already heard and/or stand by. That being said, the core system is here to stay, at least for the time being, so I have some thoughts about how it can be used properly moving forward.

A youtuber, I can’t remember who (mintblitz?), shared the idea that 343 should focus on core’s that are more difficult, if not impossible to do cross core armors with. This, in my opinion, sounds like a perfect idea for cores! It will leave less work for 343 to have to do for making cross core armor work and it will allow for truly unique cores. So I thought I’d share some cores that should be made in the future with this mentality. Feel free to share any of your own.

  • Halo ce core: This core would be a code that’s low poly, like the original ce armor. Think the mario 64 being used in mario odyssey.

  • Elite core: People, myself included, have been wanting elites to be playable in a halo game for some time now. I believe the core system could allow for this to become a reality in Infinite

  • Brute core: On the topic of making enemies playable, I think brutes would be fun to play as. This is definitely less likely to happen than elites, but I thought I might as well add it in.

  • Doom guy core: One of two core’s I’m going to suggest that are inspired from other games. Having a somewhat official crossover with doom and halo would be amazing! Plus, it’s more likely to happen now that microsoft owns Bethesda. With Doom Eternal’s multiple armor permutations, there could be a lot of ideas for doom guys armor in halo

  • Fallout core: The other core inspired from an outside game. Again, possible now due to Microsoft owning Bethesda. Given how many different power armor’s there are in Fallout, this would be a fun core to have.

Those are the core’s I could think of on the spot, but I’m sure there’s some more unique core’s that could happen in the future.
