New Hit Markers Distracting?

I was watching this video and at around 3:30 the player’s in a ghost shooting at a warthog. I found the constant stream of moving hit markers SUPER distracting. Around 4:30 she’s shooting at a bunch of guys with a BR and the same thing occurred to me. Maybe it’s just the new design and I’ll get used to it, but I’m wondering if anybody else had this first reaction?

When you play it yourself I’m sure you’ll hardly notice the hit markers any way. I remember people in the Halo 4 days had the exact same argument about those hitmarkers and NOBODY got distracted by them to the point of affecting their skill level when the game was released.

I think that it is incredibly valuable when trying to use a Hail Mary or any long shot. Just to know that your effort at least damaged their shields with that small “ping” sound.

I guess it’s the fact that the markers actually move, now, as opposed to the way they just blinked in Halo 4.

Sure it may take a little more time to get used to them just for the fact that they move now but I guarantee you that it’ll just be second nature.

I barely noticed them.

I´m not a big fan of them either tbh

I watch this video… and I’m reminded why I hated the Beta.

Warzone looked fun when they introduced it at E3, but now that I see it in action… it’s that same generic, boring gameplay from the Beta, and even reminiscent of H4.
343 totally took Halo in a different direction, and all for the worse.
The idea if Warzone is great… but it’d only actually be great with H2-styled gameplay.

I’m sad to see the gameplay hasn’t improved since the abysmal Beta. Oh well.

As for the OP, I’ve never liked Hit Markers OR Grenade Indicators. I can deal with them, though.

Care to explain?

I swear a similar discussion happened with something in H4 regarding distracting HUD elements, but they eventually became unnoticeable. I’m sure the same applies here. I didn’t even notice them in the first place.

I shook my head at this bolded area. While a respect your opinion, I couldn’t begin to fathom how you possibly thought the gameplay would somehow magically turn into H2 styled gameplay after the Beta. You’re setting your expectations waaaaay too high which probably leads to all of these disappointments in your eyes.

I dislike the hitmarker sound

I didn’t expect it… I’m just saying that I’m still disappointed in what 343 thinks is good Halo gameplay. I’m 100% convinced that the people in charge of the design never played old Halo at a more than Novice level. It’s so obvious to me that they don’t get it.

Honestly… when you watch the gunplay and movement, does it remind you of original Halo at all? None of the old values are being respected.
