New Helmets and or Armor in the future?

As many of us have seen there are 2 new helmets that we have seen but no word on how we can get them. If anyone knows anything please post here.

New helmets?

pics or imma find and punch a newborn zebra.

New helmets as DLC would be nice. What are the 2 new “helmets” you speak of?

I think he means the Scanner and Strider helmets.

Pretty sure you had to buy the map pack pass.

Would be okay with turning those “free” for everyone IF they keep the pass purchasers exclusive with some shiny new helmets

There are no new helmets, if you haven’t figured out how to unlock them that doesn’t make them new.

I don’t know what 2 new helmets you are referring to.

Are you talking about ones from the Majestic videos and screenshots in the bulletins? I don’t think any of them were new.

Check this page for them as it shows all 38 helmets, (but not the additional 32 helmet skins).

Complete checklist of all 70 Helmets

It’s completely implausible to add new armor/skins into the game at this point. They would have to rewrite the code for the entire game to add them in (MM, SPOPS, Campaign) and that would be far too much work for 343i with them already having so much other work to do.

This.

I really wish they’d build that functionality into future titles though. It’s been like this in all Halo games which is a shame. Unless it’s on the original disc that gets shipped, it isn’t going to appear in the game.

The only time they could do it is if it was map sepcific, like the mongoose/scorpion snow skins for the Avalanche map in Halo 3 (I think).

Obviously that’s not possible with armor as people would expect to wear it on the all maps, not just new ones.

I’d hope they’re focusing more on adding actual content than more cosmetics.
As much as I “loved” playing camouflage dress-up in BF3 and Calladooty, I liked having game updates and new DLCs (made AFTER the game’s release) considerably more.

Implausible but not impossible. If the content is disc locked, then its always possible. Hopefully, they were listening when everyone was going crazy about the GRD and the addition of new armor with reach to put a few extra pieces locked on the disc.

As some said before, it is just not worth the effort for 343.

At first I was like “should I trust a Blues fans?” Then I was like, “I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.”… That checklist of all the helmets is really nice, I didn’t know it existed. Thanks!

> disc-locked content

NONONONONONO NOOOOOOO
NOT GOOD

Having a DLC policy similar to Capcom’s is publicity suicide, as well as a surefire way to have the community in uproar about hackers and modders getting content that they shouldn’t.
Disc-locked content, not counting preorder bonuses and special edition bonuses, is nothing short of cheating in the industry.
It’s like day-one DLC, except that they pretend it isn’t by releasing it a bit later.

343, don’t be Capcom. As shoddy as your people skills are, as sketchy as your integrity may be, and as questionable as your work ethic may seem, you are NOT CAPCOM.

The raider armor was disc locked content, there is a difference between that and download content. Nothing wrong with disc locked content.

> Nothing wrong with disc-locked content

Again, obviously not in the case of preorder bonuses and special edition bonuses

But other than that, disc-locked content is the exact same as day-one DLC except that it’s released a bit later. As I said, it’s pretending not to be day-one DLC.
Additional content should be made after the game is finished and has had time for the developers to get feedback. It should NEVER, from a business ethics standpoint, be used to cheat the consumers and it should NEVER be used as a crutch.

Would you have doctors yank your hypothetical unborn child out of your hypothetical wife two months early because “I can just have prosthetic limbs attached where things don’t quite work”?
Would you abuse some loophole as a contractor and make the family moving into your new house pay an extra fee to fix intentional plumbing issues so your partner company will give you another $60?
I would hope not, because that would make you a jerk.

What capcom did was underhanded, and their reasons for it drew even more anger. Charging for something that should have been free is bad ethics. Locking stuff on the disc for the sole purpose of it being unlocked through achievement, ARG, or milestone is totally fine in my eyes.

Aah.
Thank you for clarifying.
I consider that “locked” about as much as the weapon unlocks, so I was a bit confused.

And I’d be hesitant to refer to those practices in the past tense, considering the convenient “technical difficulties” they’re using to handle the Dragon’s Dogma expansion.

The Helmet’s i saw was on the main page of this web site ( The pic they show above the Halo Bulletin 2-27-13) and one they showed on the Majestic map pack pictures. Not the one’s you get with the Crimson map pack.
