Its a good theory that was mention in bungie.net forums about how BOB’s transition from Marathon 1 through 3 or the character himself does fit towards what the new helmet looks like:
I was just on Marathon Wikia, and I came across this guy. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it looks quite similar to this badboy.
Now it may be a wild leap, but what if killing all Halo Reach “BOBs” will resut in recieving this helmet? Maybe a future achievement, or challenge?
Speculate.

I had a similar theory however aftering killing a Bob on every level myself I seemed to have unlocked nothing. Unless there are more Bob’s out there that you have to specifically kill I can say you don’t get anything for killing a Bob on every level

I believe B.S. angel said something like, If we told you it would take the mystery out of it and that would be fun…
So is it real and can regular players not employed by 343 get it?

Bungie said it’s up to 343 and 343 said maybe. I certainly hope it’s true, along with whatever new armor may be hiding behind it. BS Angel also replied when asked about the helmet “I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you.”. If you do find any information, look out as BS Angel might come to your doorstep with a gun.
Its just really annoying that no one gives a straight answer. I just wish someone from 343 would say, yes you can get it or yes you can get it when we release Halo: CEA it will be on the Reach MP disk…

Seeing as how Recon became available when you purchased ODST and used that disc, it could be very possible that we could see a new vidmaster using CEA and Reach achievements. I just hope that none of the achievements include LASO though. 
Sure hope that if it’s real, it won’t be just the helmet because I think it looks awful.
The silly thing is you could have 100% armory completion and still have armor un-purchased. I must say ugly or not I want what I can’t have and I hope its hard to get. If there is one helmet there must be other armor perms too.

robot arm (L-arm)
Over shield charging ( Armor effect)
Mark VII armor
others…

Mark VII? If that armor even existed we would only see it in Halo 4 and beyond.

This helmet is still bugging me and I’ve known about it since the first major thread on B.net popped up. Never really got a straight answer from anyone, even when the picture was on the Xbox Dashboard. Just going to have to wait and see but I(like others have said) am sensing a VidMaster

Either that, or a new series of armors are being added with Halo: CEA, as it is using the Reach multiplayer.
New armor in CEA I suppose.

Recon was already on the disc, though as Bungie and lucky community members had it.
it’s been a while but i have an idea of something that could happen
they could add in an achievement for killing B.O.Bs(or something) in REACH with the update and when CEA releases we could than have to earn a achievement in that to earn the helmet kind of like recon helmet in halo 3 and ODST
