Hey guys! Im not sure if you have checked out the new sneak peek to February’s 2016 update to halo 5, but I noticed that there are 2 new helioskrill armor sets coming out along with other things. So my question is, how do we unlock them? Will it be as easy as just buying a gold pack and getting it or will we have to beat possibly halo 5 on legendary. Me personally, id much rather unlock it by beating the halo 5 campaign on legendary or getting some kind of achievement to get it because I think a lot of people would be very upset if they unlocked the original armor by beating all of MCC on legendary, and then all of a sudden some noob buys a gold pack and gets is easy. You feelin’ me?
I would guess that they’re just another normal REQ item, you unlock them in packs. If they are unlocked a different way I’ll be surprised.
I was talking about this topic to a friend and he told me that 343i might do something where you can only unlock the armor if you have the original. Like once you get the “Legend” achievement you would have to get another achievement to get the new armor set. Maybe an achievement from halo 5. I thought of it like weapon attachments. If I have a certain type of suppressor for a gun, I cant use that specific attachment because I dont have the weapon it goes with.
I guess we will find out very very soon.

I’m hoping it’s actually hard to get, but I still think 343 is going to do the whole REQ system crap.

It would be buying them which I am not too happy about. You are taking something that is easy to identify someone who spent days of their time working for it just to have someone get it from a REQ pack. It makes me a little mad actually.
Whats says they will not do this with the Achilles in the future?
5 days late on this info but yes there are new helioskrill sets
Is it just me or is helioskrill some of the ugliest armor ever released?

yeah… identify? you and your 3 other team mates are the only people that will know what armor you are wearing. Customization in this game is not to show off to other people, because it is almost impossible to do that. They do not allow you to see other peoples Spartans with ease, and little people care what others are wearing in the first place. So who even cares if they add that armor in later, nobody will know what you look like anyways

I haven’t thought of this. I already have the Legend achievement for the Helioskrill armor, but the actual achievement says “Done. Unlocking…”, but is hasn’t. Now I’m thinking this bug might be fixed in the next update.

Actually it is easier then you think. Since it is a hard to get item, People will most likely pay attention to it. I am able to spot someone who has it very easily because it is so different then what other people have. I feel a small connection with some else who also has it because we both know what we about had to do with it.
And it is something that I enjoy wearing it because it makes me unique inside a name where it is very hard to do that. For them to just give out something that took me weeks of grinding to get is almost a slap to the face saying, “we know the stuff you had to go for in the MCC to get this, but we want to give it out to everyone, Sorry.”
And there is always the carnage report that lets you see what the other spartans look like too.
I totally agree that helioskrill should still be a mcc unlock, no req pack stuff, I’m almost halfway through halo two and when I complete all the campaigns it would be awful if you could just get lucky in halo 5
