New Halo trilogy about...

Ok, I know not everyone wants to pick up the novels to catch up with the ever expanding Halo universe. I feel like their is bank to be made here.

At an interview I had read about at an earlier date. 343i had said that they wanted to stop numbering the Halo games after Halo 6. Which implies they want to continue the franchise for a while. I want to hear everyone’s unbiased opinions on this and whether you think it would be a success or a waste of time. A new Halo trilogy on the original Human-Forerunner war. This would open up plenty of the story to people who didn’t read the books, and enable massive change for 343i to work with.

What do you guys think?

Also not relevant but other games I’d love to see.

Halo ODST 2.
Halo wars 2.
A game about the origins of the covenant, like the San Shyuum-Sangheili war.
Large scale warfare of the Marines on Harvest vs the Covenant.

In terms of the original trilogy… They will have to keep it very very good. I fear once we get past 6, unless a major major plot event happens (barring a mass effect 3 ending) that’s GOOD, it will crumple to Microsoft “MONEY” vision.

A forerunner trilogy would be awesome. However it might be a little stale since we all know how it’s going to end… and if it doesn’t end in THAT way, it MIGHT cause some controversy.

Halo: The Next Generation. No more prequels (they can only end one way, a knowing nod), jump 500 years and pick up where the small movements of the Halo series (to which I include the near extinction of humanity) rebound into seismic events. New characters, new types of characters. New locations, new types of locations. New technology, new types of technology. If ever there was a way to make a better Halo this is it.

343, if you don’t do this I will forever think I could have done it better than you. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’d be even better if it was a fresh start and no one needed to understand the previous lore to get in to it. Star Trek did it right when they made TNG.

To me Halo 1-3 was all about the rings and the covenant war, I always thought the reclaimed series would be Halo 4-6 and the Flood series 7-9 then Chief would retire. But that was me

After the Reclaimer Saga ends and the story arc wrapped up, I think they should end there with Master Chief’s story.

But a game based in the Rainforest Wars, another based in the future(I suggest the Title “Halo: Infinity”) and another set during the Orion project would be sweet.
