Gutting time, everything halo must Go
Just because It’s a new trilogy, a new game doesn’t mean that everything must be removed and build up from nothing. Everyone on here is seem to have got the idea that EVERYTHING needs to be new, that EVERYTHING from the halo need to be gutted and removed because suddenly halo needs to “evolve” and do so everything from the older games, everything that makes halo, halo need to be taken out and renamed “tradition” while a new halo is put in its place.
Halo 3 is old but it still was great!
What was wrong with traditional Halo. Nothing why fix something that wasn’t broken? Like you say that halo need to evolve: You are absolutely correct, the question is what to: CoD? innovation and improvement will be welcomed with open arms but the thing that make halo halo, the thing that make halo an epic series needs to stay! Not gutted removed and renamed “traditional” while 343 moves on to a different market. It simply is not going to work.
Last words
I will stress this again; I don’t want the same game over and over. Halo needs to change as it’s always been doing from Halo CE to Halo 3. It needs to change in the right direction. It needs to be it’s own game and have features that are excusive to halo. Be the best in its own right rather changing into something it is not, but still being brand as halo.
Please reply - Thank will be appreciated!

Do you honestly expect 343 to come up with ideas that have never before been implemented in a video game?
Just putting that out there.

Exactly. I can’t even think of another name for Spartan Ops, let alone something that’s never been done before.
I disagree. They are building upon the base of CE like all Halo games did. They never removed the core gameplay, which is driving, shooting, crouching, melee, grenades, and jumping. Those are still in it, they are just adding to it like putting whip cream on top of a cake. They don’t need to evolve, that theory of Halo needing to evolve is very, very wrong. If they evolved, they would end up like the Red Faction series, and changed almost everything, thats evolving. Building upon a set of mechanics isn’t. That is adding a different options and systems to it.They are keeping what was originally in it and adding to it. They added perks, but didn’t take anything away. You see where I’m going with it? There are adding to the Halo Empire, and not taking away and changing. So stop ripping on Halo 4 and saying they are ruining it, when you have no proof and your theory has just been proven wrong.

It’s not about ‘fixing’ anything, it’s about moving up and on.
Let me ask you; Why even MAKE a new game beyond the campaign if you just Want Halo 2/3? Halo 2’s Multiplayer is gone, yes, but we still have its clone (3) so why make another game if you only want Halo 2/3 over, and over, and over again?
I don’t want Halo 2 to be remade for eternity, I want Halo 4.
It’s not about “fixing” what isn’t broken, it’s about creating something fresh and new, while keeping the spirit of what makes Halo truly Halo, but adding new facets, and bells and whistles and ways to interact with the Universe through the GAME, rather than just booting up the same Capture the Flag game over and over.
The current games on the market have SO MUCH to give. Being Xenophobic of all current games on the market, and avoiding every idea brought forward by its brothers, will bring nothing but a game that is technically pure, but stale. It won’t appeal to the new players and if Halo doesn’t change, and sticks with the 2/3 formula, it will stagnate.
The older fans are getting LIVES. It’s been ten years. Halo needs new blood.
And the new ideas out there actually sound pretty f**king cool. If you don’t like it, go back to Halo 3, or better yet, TRY ANOTHER GAME.
But go ahead. Keep criticizing the new and praising the old, without creating anything yourself. Fair enough.
Have fun making twenty topics per day.
343i didn’t completely change everything… they added new features.

No, but it need to have it’s no spin to it, it needs to be unquie to halo rather it being copy and pasted from other game. Those features are going to be based from elsewhere but they can’t just remove everthing that made halo, halo in the process

Pretty much all skilled players would disagree with you. We want a Halo game (eg. Halo 2/3), not a CoD rip-off. A game where it comes down to: Are you good, or not? Not: How well did you choose your class?

So do I. I want halo 4, I want the game to change but we don’t have to remove everything else! and add thing that will take away from the core halo experience!

They didn’t remove the core feel of Halo, they added to it. If you strip away all of that stuff they added, it’ll still feel like Halo.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that if you strip away all of the stuff they are adding, the game would be literally unplayable.

How so?
Here’s the thing… making power weapon spawnpoints random completely undermines the Halo sandbox. The core of Halo isn’t running, shooting, crouching etc- that’s the core of all shooters.
The essence of Halo, what makes Halo…Halo, is in the way the sandbox plays out… and messing with weapon spawns, instant respawns, and mid-game player joining will significantly alter it.
I will hold final judgement until I play the game myself, but I went from excited to considerably worried after the latest info from game informer. But yea- i guess i’ll just have to wait and see what Bungie’s next project is

Because they added everything. And, what happens if you remove “everything”? There will be no game.

Because when a game is designed it is designed as a whole, not in parts.
It doesn’t sound like they are removing much, other than armor lock (I’m sure that’s what people are really sad about… can’t have a halo experience anymore without that AL) and firefight, which turned into spartan operations. Instead they seem to be adding additional options that you can use to expand the sandbox in new, interesting, and fun ways.
The OP is right, it doesn’t have to be the same game for the veterans to be happy. We arent asking for Halo 2 MP repackaged like so many over dramatize on here. Halo 3 was similar at its core to Halo 2. Did anyone say then that all it was, was a repackaged Halo 2? No they did not. Same thing now. If 343 released a game that at its core played similar to H2/H3 with some new non game breaking features no one would ever say it was just a repackage.

You say this like it’s set-in-stone that everyone will have huge variety of what they can choose for their ‘custom class’.
It’s already been confirmed that you will not be able to start with power weapons in custom classes (Outside of custom/gametype specific playlists) This pretty much leaves you starting with the DMR, The AR, and the BR. If anything, this is an answer to all of the people complaining that they hate AR starts.
