Guys! It sounds like the developers are listening!

  • Graphical improvements make the game look less old-gen / cartoony, and more hybridized with realism with the cutting edge feel of Halo 5!

Don’t get me wrong, there are still some cheesy areas that feel like it’s just a modified upgrade of older generation stuff …
BUT did you see that environment? Best graphical enhancement to the game thus far!

Please, devs, please still fix…

  • Master Chief … (Yes he’s getting better… but please. Make him look equivalent / better than Halo 5… not worse / cheaper)

  • Melees … (These feel wildly “cheap” as well. What happened to the classic lunge + lock on feel to the melee? & the satisfying crunch sound FX as well)

  • Shield flares… (Yes we like the idea… but the shield flares are just a little too much with the whole character’s silhouette lighting up… again, makes it feel like plastic / cartoony… Halo 5 shield flares were PERFECT)

  • Sound FX in combat … (again… it’s not too hard to tell that halo 5 is the superior in this field… just have anyone watch a side by side video, and it’s instantly obvious… Why not recycle old sounds from Halo 5? Heck why not just engineer hybrid sounds of H5 + Halo Infinite? I could even simply do this for you guys. Halo infinite sound FX are missing some crucial components in specific frequency domains. + More high frequency content is needed in Halo infinite. Especially for a shooter game)

  • The main gripes, as people that have been with Halo since the very inception + reading the books… Please… Make the newer games look equal / better than previous generations. Never worse. (Referring to Halo Infinite vs Halo 5 specifically.)

I think you’ve completely forgotten that 343 Industries is treating this game like a “return to form.” But I’ll respond to these statements anyways.

  1. They aren’t keeping the Halo 4/5 MJOLNIR art style, and they’re reverting to something more along the lines of Halo 3. This isn’t a regression, it’s a design choice.

  2. I can agree with the melees a little bit. I thought they were fine in the flights myself, but hey. Maybe there’s a bunch of people who don’t like it, I don’t know.

  3. The Shield Flares, like the MJOLNIR art style, are once again a design choice. I myself found the shields in the second flight to be easily readable and had no problems with it of any kind.

  4. I thought the sound effects were fantastic, and we’ve only heard select samples. Bear in mind that this game uses a specially engineered sound system as well, very different from the spatial audio found in Halo 5.

  5. I personally think that Halo Infinite doesn’t look worse than Halo 5, at least not on Series X. If anything, I prefer Halo Infinite’s appearance.

But before this devolves into anything other than a logical discussion of games, bear in mind that Halo Infinite hasn’t launched yet. We still don’t know what the final product looks like, and the Flights did not represent the final product.
