First of all if you guys aren’t following SeanW on youtube or twitter you are missing out. Dude is super entertaining and has great info.
But he made a great point that recently Sentinels and Cloud9 have announced adding Halo players to their roster and the CEO of Cloud 9 even mentioned that he was glad he could finally share the news. Does this mean he was given the okay to announce it and does this fall on the old Halo Infinite timeline or the new one?
Likely the old one but they normally wouldn’t a year from release of the final game. Does it mean an MP reveal is imminent but if it is going to release early next year then November is next.
What does suggest an early date is the fact a seperate release was even a suggestion means the game was close to going Gold (and I suspect 343 is more focused on getting Infinite to release as it was originally meant). Likely the Multiplayer was most finished by this point and after the campaign reveal they may of wanted more time before they showcase it. This adds to the game being nearly completely. So it shouldn’t need a year more. All adding up to them needing to show Multiplayer soon to really kick off hype and Marketing for Infinite.
Personally, I believe this to either be in November or December. November is my choice since SX releases then, Halo’s BD is then, and its sooner than December (thats more personal)
(on a side not, I believe the Release window is late winter (Feb 2021) to Spring 2021)
Next spring would be a hopeful estimation. The Infinite reveal backlash seemingly scared 343 off from releasing the game this year, so hopefully we get the best product we can in the shortest time.

Whether or not he is grasping at straws, you can’t blame him for doing so; after all, we’re all suffering from some serious blue balls here. Let people fantasize if it helps them deal with the vast expanse of nothing.

I have to agree. When theres no visible or even hinted at time span of when the game will come, info will be shared, or anything else the only options become swinging in the dark or just ghost the franchise until more news comes out lol. Most serious halo fans wont do the latter so people will keep spinning up rumors or over speculating on the smallest little things.
I don’t know if it means a MP reveal soon but I’m interested that Cloud9 has re-entered Halo. Halo isn’t big anymore, there’s not much money in it compared to lots of other esport games out there, so why would a huge org like Cloud9 bother with Halo again unless something has changed for the better? Wonder if MS is really gonna help Infinite pop off with some good prize pools.

Thanks guys, yeah I honestly just miss being in a strong Halo community and after the gameplay trailer in July it felt like the good ol days. Each day I’m hopping on twitter hoping for just any news to drop lol

Although we would all love to hear things are closer to being done than they really are, I think it’s all just wishful thinking. Not having a team ready and the release date not being told also makes team selection more of a problem. Wait too long and then players may switch teams, or possibly you screw someone on your team over when you end up replacing them with someone suddenly and they’re screwed out of luck when they go to find a team finding out all the top team rosters are full.
Snakebite uploaded a video about frostys return and gives context over this since APG was on his team at the time cause frosty was on cod. He explains it pretty well.
It would be awesome if the game was coming out earlier than expected though. Also, man that dude plays halo better than me and he only has 1 freaking hand.

That’s the internet in general, it’s like the number 3 triggers the Half Life, Sonic for HL3, SA3 community. It might be something and it might not be…either way we will have to wait to find out to see if any Infinite news comes out. Plus they have been releasing info about Infinite slowly in their recent news blog.

I highly doubt the delay was because of the demos reception. I think there were several factors (and yes it may have been a factor). Mainly covid and working from home, but I do think it would have been borderline for making the fall 2020 release window anyway. Most likely the game is nearly finished but not quite release ready (bugs, lack of polish, ghosting grass and clouds etc) as seen in the demo. But then again Microsoft is still advertising infinite almost as if its a launch title, which makes me doubt the delay is very long. My guess is we are looking at about a 6 month delay, with a release date sometime in q2 2021 (April to June).
We also had a new esports team join today and the 343 rep for Esports “Tashi” kept liking tweets with captions like “Something big is coming” and “I feel like these orgs know something we don’t know…”.
So I don’t feel like its grasping at straws anymore, the community rep is literally liking the tweets of people theorizing this!
My current stance, based on SeanW’s thought, is that these new teams may be doing Halo infinite flighting instead of the flighting being released to the public. This may not fix all the bugs but it could be their best “core” players to talk to about multiplayer feel and desires.
They really do need to show multiplayer already. They’ve had some sort of esports schedule set up for months without even showing if the game is going to be competitive or not.

Honestly man I am checking twitter every day expecting to have a bomb dropped on us about multiplayer any day now. It just feels so close! Even if they just announce a full reveal for November even, It will reignite the community to start having a concrete day to look forward too.

I think the game is mostly finished and they are trying to make it a fully polished product. I would love to see a new Halo game with Joseph Staten from the cradle to the grave, because at this point I do not see what exactly he could change.

lol that is honestly a great point. But if you go off the typical timing from a draft to start of the season its usually around 6 months, so April would still feel very solid.
