Just got my latest issue of OXM and the first page under the cover is a new ad for Halo Annviersary which displays Halo Reach soldiers and weapons. Is it just me or weren’t these models just supposed to be place holders?

Um, do you seriously think an ad is supposed to promote using concept art? No, it’s supposed to promote the final game which by this ad is advertising Reach models. Anyone who sees this ad might think that is what the actual game is going to have, and might not buy it.

Anyone who doesn’t buy the game because a Model looks a little different is a reject…just sayin.
Some people are very touchy when it comes to remakes, especially if they’re hardcore fans. Remember how the forums blew up when the first HCEA trailer came out and everyone hated the models? Everyone seemed to settle down when they heard they were just placeholders, but now I find this ad that is clearly advertising them as being in the game. I just wanna know if 343 decided to keep them in or is this just an old ad from before they removed the Reach models?

I am a very hardcore Halo fan, I’ve been playing for years and I don’t intend to stop because of a little thing called “age”
If they are really that upset over some models in the game then they are being childish, had it ever crossed their minds that this art may have been drawn before the new models were released? There are many reasons as to why the game has those models drawn on the art, but it’s not something people should lose their minds over.
I’d be more concerned if my copy of Halo Anniversary didn’t work, that’s a genuine concern, the whole Model thing is just being a picky brat. “I don’t like the models they’ve used for Halo CEA, I’m not buying it!” That sounds so stupid…
On a lighter note: Covies vs UNSC + Confused looking MC = Win!

That’s what I was thinking. It must have been drawn before the trailer hit. I don’t think this was concept art though. I think the concept art look is just part of the ad. I agree, it’s an awesome ad, but it’s clearly sending the wrong message to consumers. I don’t see why 343 would let this ad out if it was advertising something that wasn’t in the game? Unless this is Microsoft’s doing. That’s probably it.

Hurpa derpa. If you actually think that is in-game you’re limited. (Not directed at you, just in general.)
Lots of games these days have advertisements which use concept art. The add you posted is just a piece of art.
