What’s up guys. Now before I lose any of you just imagine, that you can finally have THE BEST Halo forging map EVER. Just one forge map, but 10 times greater than anything halo reach could EVER achieve.
Ladies and gentleman… I present to you the Halo 5 forge world, in only 7 words. Blood Gulch, Death Island, and Erosion combined.
Now bare with me. If you don’t know any of these maps or don’t know what the hell i’m talking about. Then check this out.
Blood Gulch (is a Halo 1 map)

Death Island (is a Halo 1 map)

Erosion (is a Halo 4 map)

Well that’s pretty much about it guys. I think it would make for an EPIC Halo forge world and I would be more than ecstatic to see this actually happen! If they were to actually just take the Halo maps Blood Gulch, Death Island, and Erosion, and put them all together on one single map for forging (completely and perfectly remade the exact same way to the dot) I would be be completely satisfied and love Halo forever
Well for now its just a concept but let me know what you guys think. Do you think combining Blood Gulch, Death Island, and Erosion would make an awesome new forge world for Halo 5? Don’t forget to vote!
I would prefer a flat plain and a geometry editor.
> I would prefer a flat plain and a geometry editor.
See now, I understand where all you guys are coming from with the “I just want a completely blank empty map” and I want a “map editor to make my own maps on the computer from scratch” etc. etc. But I don’t like this idea at all because
- Well then it’s not even Halo or Halo forge anymore! I mean you might as well just become a programmer yourself and make your own games.
- Just go download some map/game editor online -.- I’m sure theres tons of different easy to use programs where you can create a whole game from scratch, create your own Halo maps on there, and everything.
- You’re asking too much from the creators. Halo is fine where it’s at right now and getting better. To put in a entire “map editor and blank canvas with unlimited freedom” seriously? In Halo 5?It wouldnt even be Halo anymore, just a disk with a map creating program and a Halo story -.- Might as well just make it a whole entirely new project and sell it on a disk completely seperate from Halo >__>
- Seems like it would be a lot of work just to create a map. I think you would also lose a lot original aspects of regular forging today as well. Ex: Limited to a certain of objects and variety so that you have to get creative, no more talented aesthetics, and the list goes on.
> I would prefer a flat plain and a geometry editor.
I have never been into forging, but your post reminds me of Far Cry, I loved that map editor, and something like that in Halo would certainly interest me.

If we could have such an advanced forge system the Halo forge would evolve and customs will be very creative, never set limits, always aim higher, gamers shall be happy, the only complaint would be how hard it is to use but they will get used to it.

Will never happen.
Why charge the consumer for map packs when you have given them the tools to make it themselves?
I’d love it too, but i gave up that dream when REACH came out.
I really hate the way we’re talking about stuff that should be in the next game. This one isn’t even 6 months old! Come on people, what happened to demanding stuff from the current game! I remember when Halo 3 came out and we all -Yoinked!- about not having a proper forge level and then BOOM sandbox came out.
If Forge is to evolve further than REACH (Halo 4 adds nothing new other than magnets, it’s absolutely appalling) then we need forge world, but with themes.
I’m not saying we have 5 different forge world sized levels, that would be ridiculous, the problem people had with forge world wasn’t the size, it was the pallet and how everything was grey. If ‘themes’ were added that could change everything.
Let’s say you have 5 themes for it:
- Grass
- Volcanic
- Industrial
- Forerunner
- Covenant
When you start up a forge you start with the default theme, lets say thats grass, so it’s similar to the way Forge World was in REACH, but you’re able to change appearance of the level by changing the theme. The geometry stays the same for assets and environments, but the textures and sky box change over all.
This can give a MASSIVE range of forge maps, it would be almost limitless for what the player can do with their maps! Just think of the chances.
That is what I think is the next step for forge, and I expecting it in Halo 4, I’m not waiting till 5 to be disappointed. They spent 4 years on this game and some how fudged up the most unique thing about the Halo series! It’s time for some upgrades!
We went through this with halo 4 forge. Forge communities made wish lists of simple ideas to make forge as good as they could be. Pretty much all the ideas were ignored and instead we got magnets.
Or even better: why not have a map like: a massive Sandtrap (but more rocky, more ancient buildings and hilly), a kind of land we’d want e.g. Sand, Snow, Grass etc., $1,000,000 Budget, weather control e.g. weather spawning, how dangerous the weather can be and how long the weather lasts, have the sea or any kind of liquidy form you can drive on (that you can actually drive boats on), be able to explore up the mountains and have islands.
I know that sounds too much to ask for, but at least something could be done. I understand how hard it really is to code up and create all of these things for us on a game, but it’s a time that’s worth putting into.
Having three Forge Worlds on Halo 4 wasn’t exactly a great feel of a Forge World compared to Halo: Reach’s Hemorrhage.
> I would prefer a flat plain and a geometry editor.
thats what i and a friend yesterday discussed.
that would be the best, without a limitation.
Even without a geometry editor, I would still prefer a large open area, with various biomes represented like plains, mountains, deserts, and oceans. Just give me a nice, big Forge pallet, and I’m set.

Mate you’re thinking too much like someone who wants something awesome from Forge!
Ever since Forge was in Halo 3 I’ve always wanted to create a dark, rain soaked level where the attackers have to sneak into a walled off fort to capture the flag with the defenders taking to the walls to repel them. Kind of like a High Ground meets Relic love child with the fogginess of backwash.
I don’t know what they were thinking with Halo 4’s forge world. Sure we all wanted different environments but at the end of the day it’s all about the pallet theme and the skybox really.
Honestly guys at 343, have a look at these ideas from what the community is asking and put it in your game! You may look at them and think “well it isn’t in Call of Duty, so Halo doesn’t need it.” but you’d be SO ridiculously wrong.
We need a Forge World sized map in Halo 4, otherwise your forge community is going to disappear.
PLEASE MAKE FORGE BETTER AND STOP FEEDING US -Yoink- WITH A HALO THEME SPOON!

I love Forge, but Microsoft hates user-created content, so I’ll consider myself lucky to see Forge in Halo 5. If it is there, it will probably, once again, not be improved.
- Wrong forum, 2) OMG ugly block of text!, 3) I could see a new Forge World in a next-gen game so that they could actually fix all the terrible flaws the original had.
> I love Forge, but Microsoft hates user-created content, so I’ll consider myself lucky to see Forge in Halo 5. If it is there, it will probably, once again, not be improved.
Look guys, we have to stop all this “wait till Halo 5…” crap.
If we don’t make a stand now, then we will get the same -Yoink- features as we have had in Halo 4.
IF 343 cares so much about what the community has to say, then prove it guys. You look at companies like Bethesda and see what they did when they were free to work on whatever they wanted in skyrim and they produced some truly awesome features which have made it in game.
Seriously, take a creative risk 343 and do something different and awesome! Not just rehash the same features from different games!
If you guys are half the skilled company you think you are then prove it. They are supposed to be a company filled with vets from the industry, yet all you’ve created is a half -Yoinked!- multiplayer with so many flaws and features that didn’t work.
No.
Like Halo 4, have several Forge Worlds, with different pallets and locales to build in.
But make each of them Halo Reach’s Forge World sized.
Personally, I’d want Halo Reach’s forge world back and better with a Forerunner Pallet(It’s the best map ever, too. The forge tools in Reach are better than in Halo 4. Alaska, Montana, the Island, Cave, Canyon, Sea, Air, Small flat, Grifball place…just awesome. ), a snow forge world, possibly with an Avalanche remake, UNSC based pallet, and then a Sand/dirt based map, like Halo 3’s sandtrap/ the big flat one, with the amazing skybox, and maybe a Covenant pallet.
But not the small stuff like Ravine. The limitations are soooooo stupid.
I wanna see Halo 4 out for at least a year before you guys go getting pipe dreams!!!

You obviously didn’t read what I said. Forge won’t get ‘fixed,’ [ie. be as good as it could be], because Microsoft won’t allow that much user created content. Plain and simple. It cuts into DLC profits.

This is what I want, toss in a snowy environment and desert oasis one, with Forerunner Textures, Palette, and I am a kid in a candy store.
They need to make the textures look like actual Halo textures, that fit into the lore, and look very similar to what we find in Multiplayer maps and the Campaign, the textures in the Forge environments for the pieces themselves are terribly done. Reach had better and consistent textures, and was much easier to make something that looked pretty incredible even with all the gray, the nice thing was mixing the gray objects with the ones of different colors to make a nice aesthetic and beautiful play space.
I totally agree. Even though I love making my own playing area from a blank canvas, I don’t think that belongs in Halo (I can play Far Cray 3 if I want that).
I love the idea of a massive forge map even if it doesn’t have Blood Gulch, Death Island, and Erosion as a part of it. That being said, a massive island consisting of those maps is just…let’s see…how do I put this…EPIC! When I first heard of Forge Island, I thought it would be one massive Island with three or four different forging areas (I was rather dissapointed when I found out that it was just three flat islands (which is still cool) but I want one big massive island like you thought up).
