This photo was found my hihi10020. He put it on Enfinit’s Halo 4 news thread. It’s a birds eye view of master chief. To me though it doesn’t look animated, it looks very real.
You guys think this could be a photo from a Halo 4 live action trailer with master chief? The idea of seeing a live action Master Chief has got me so excited!!

I know the graphics really look that good, it’s even still prealpha

You mean The first look one? You can’t make out from that if the screen is a fake or not.
We’ll have to wait an see really, but i do believe it is in-game. Would be weird to release a Live action trailer or anything so early.

I’m pretty sure that that is in-game (or cutscene) footage, but good god those graphics are beautiful, that’s like Battlefield 3 cutscene level graphics…

Okay yeah i checked the video you were right. Now i am just impressed by the graphics in this game! lol it definitely fooled me!! I guess the idea of finally seeing a proper live action version of master chief got me too excited!

Let’s try to be a bit more courteous in discussion with others.
It is indeed a real in-game picture. There are two things making it look realistic, the most important is the lightning. The second is the distance. Because of the distance, the textures have no visible signs of any kind of individual pixels, thus fooling the eye to think it’s an actual surface. While that definitely is how the game actually look, it won’t look as good in-game. It’s just the perspective that makes it look so real. The picture has low amounts of geometry so every inforamtion our eyes can gather comes from the textures and lightning, both of them looking absolutely fantastic.
If you look at the other pics like this from the trailer it looks like that flood planet on Halo Wars where you start with the elephant and make troops.
Is that really an in-game screenshot? It looks really realistic.
