NEW HALO 4 INFO!! BLOOM AND 5 SHOT BR!!!

In Killa_KC’s recent post he confirmed a few things that have upset more then a few people.
The things he pointed out that worry people most about halo 4s multiplayer are
- Both the DMR and BR were 5-shot weapons
- DMR was single shot with bloom
- Promethean Vision is the new see-through-walls ability
- Hologram was very similar to the hologram from Halo Reach
- Magnum also had bloom,It had 8 bullets in the clip and was a 6-shot kill
These are the facts i will break down.
Keep in mind Killa also said “I was explicitly told that weapon tuning is still being refined. This is a very very early build of the game and all the weapons are still being tuned. I’m only writing about what I actually played with”-Killa_KC
Ill start with the first bullet, The BR and DMR are both 5-Shot !
Some people are very upset about the reknown 4 shot BR being a five shot weapon,I myself am not exactly pleased but looking from all standpoints it may not be so bad.For example the DMR is faster,stronger and also more accurate.The halo reach DMR would destroy the halo 3 BR due to the speed and accuracy.But if they where both 5-shot weapons it would be more balanced because the battle rifle would be able to hang with the DMR because of its accuracy mid-range.Dont let the BR die.
Next Bullet,BLOOM IN HALO 4!
Rumor has it the DMR bloom is even more reduced then the reach 85% title update.I personally believe that, that would make the DMR balance well with the BR and AR.For example AR close range,BR mid-range,DMR-long range. A player across the map using a bloom based DMR versus a recoil based BR would win the battle.But the mid-range BR would beat the DMR in a closer proximity due to the fact the BR is meant for mid-range accuracy and has NO BLOOM!
Third Bullet,Forerunner(Promethean)Vision can see through walls!
Ok ok ok calm down, it can see through walls but not through the whole map.From what i understand the range of the vision is VERY SHORT.Maybe just the wall right in front of you or near you,for example if you where playing on Halo Reach’s Countdown’s blue vent you may be able to see your attic, but not Red vent or it’s attic.Hologram and camo are also said to be able to counter it and that forerunner vision also makes a certain noise when active like the springing noise when someone evades on Halo Reach.So for competitive players with headsets like turtle beaches and astros it shouldnt worry at all.
Fourth Bullet,HOLOGRAM RETURNS! WHY?
The tricky little hologram from halo reach returns mainly in my eyes to counter forerunner vision.Some players say its useless but casual players love it.MLG never implied hologram anyway so chill guys its ok.
Fifth and final bullet,MAGNUM RETURNS YAY!!! yeah not so much.
The pistol that shipped with reachs build on release night was significantly weaker and slower then title updated pistols thats currently being used.Im not concerned with halo 4s pistol for the reason im not a pistol fan, the pistol pissed me off in Halo REACH MLG playlist when it was in it because it shot fast and it was a five shot kill with no bloom.A good pistol player in reach would destroy someone witth a DMR so i think halo 4s take on the pistol is needed to balance the games.

Oh I’m very carefully treading the line between Optimism and Pessimism…

Simply because I’d rather be a Surprised Pessimist than a Disappointed Optimist, and remaining Neutral takes both of those out of the equation and leaves me a happy man at the Finish Line no matter what place I should fall under…

Bloomm never bothered me in the first place. I play a ton of SWAT and Firefight, and bloom just never affected me or seemed any different from any other Halo to me.

So I’m good with bloom being back in on the M392 DMR.

But 5 shots on the BR… that seems like it would take too long to resolve after a single trigger compression. At three shots, there’s no guarantee that the accuracy was spot on once you take the movement of both players into account. Adding two more rapid shots, with the same level of player movement just seems to me like it would draw out the firing mechanisms much too long. It seems to me that with the natural jumping of the weapon as each round expends, it would also be more difficult to hold your aim on an enemy (especially one that moves independently from your own movement) with the lengthened firing of the weapon.

Just some of my thoughts.

5 shots on the BR? Didnt he say IN THIS BUILD. Why people decide to cut that out of their heads, I dunno.

I think the most important thing he had to say about it was that the movement and aiming felt solid.

Yeah, 5-6 shot kills is definitely pushing the kill times into boredom territory, but I’m happy to hear that the movement and aiming feels good. The aiming in 3/reach is very sluggish. it’s like in PC shooters with “mouse smoothing”, in which everyone edit’s the .ini’s to turn that off.

granted, with the analog stick scheme you can’t go straight up raw input, you need to be able to finely aim AND turn around as quick as possible. but as close to raw as possible without that feeling that you are dragging your aimer through mud.

as long as they nail that and give us BR/DRM/Pistol that can kill in a time span that makes having skill matter…than I’m a happy guy. If I don’t miss a single headshot on someone rushing me with an AR, and they win the battle…then that kill time isn’t fast enough. The skillful play should be rewarded, as it normally has been in halo. to me that IS halo.

really excited about the movement. nothing beats a good strafe battle.

Logic fail is fail. You’re worried the BR would be underpowered, and think lowering the damage it does will help? Can you not see the gaping flaw?

im no fan of the pistol but rly? 8 bullet magazine and it takes 6 bullets to kill a player wtf pistol should be 5 shot and 10 bullet magazine, 6 shots is a piece of garbage no one will use like the plasma repeater

Just remember that the game they were playing was a build from march and was a custom game killa kc also stated that the developers are still tuning the weapons so all things can still change before the game is released

@deltaunithink yeah man alot of people are missing that point , its similar to the beta stage of halo reach which played quite different then how the game played after it finished production and shipped. @AnNoYiiNG im not worried about the power but more of kill trading , for instance if the battle rifle still shot 4 shots and the dmr shot five with bloom meaning you have to pace your shots the dmr would lose , we need balance we want balance
