I’m interested when these will become available to the general Halo population? I’ve seen some players using them already, and I’d really like to get my hands on them. So does anyone know when they drop?
[Edit] so now we know when the skins will be released, I’ll make it a little easier for everyone else who’s wondering the same question, so below are the dates of when each skin will be released.
UK: Feb. 19-26
AUS: Mar. 5-12
MEX: Mar. 12-19
US/CAN: Mar. 19-26

Odds are the week of HCS Orlando, Feb 16-18. Prepare to drop $10 since they are for HCS odds are they will be buy only packs, I will be surprised if they are made available with points. Also yeah there was some folks who got them early for some reason.

Ugh, of course! Spending more money when I don’t have any… Cheers for the heads up! They should be made available with points, but I guess not since most people have 100,000’s+ Req Points now.

Well all HCS stuff is buy only because it’s how they fund HCS. I will probably get a pack. I like HCS so why not?
All of the different countries’ skins have been in the game at least since H5: Forge released on pc and you can use them with GameCheat13’s tool but I think it needs an update and he’s been busy working on other things.

I can understand why you’d be so reluctant actually. He was banned for reporting a vulnerability believe it or not.

Probably what he claims. He was more likely banned for leaking all that content.
Even if the upcoming country skins are only(?) available through actual money, that won’t stop me from getting them. The Canada weapon skins shall be mine once they become available!

I was going to buy these when they came out as well. However, I don’t want to keep contributing to a system that I don’t agree with.

Yeah, that’s what I thought, and I’ve done as much twice now for VoW and Str8 Rippin. It’s slippery slope. How many of us just buying one makes them think the system is “well liked”?
Either way it looks like they’re not coming out until Orlando. I just think there should also be an RP option.

I’m mixed here…
On one hand I don’t think it’s really too bad to spend real money on something that is cosmetic only as it doesn’t affect game play. The developers get more money too continue to support the game with additional context (supposedly…) at no extra cost to the player.
On he other hand, the more people who support this, the more 343I (in this case) knows they can get away with releasing more and more skins that can be only bought by real money only. Unfortunately, there are people who won’t play a game if they can’t look the way they want. Sounds silly, but in today’s day in age where it’s all about “look at me” (see any soical media if you don’t believe me) it matters. Which I’m sure will then lead to other things that can be only obtained by real money only.
Ultimately, I still don’t like supporting any kinds of mirotransactions unless the game is free to play.
I want more than stupid Halo ESPORTS skins, yeah they’re alright but I rather have something that isn’t all “OH LOOK AT THIS AWESOME TEAM ON MY GUN” i want weapon packs like Mister Chief or something actually like a skin or camo.
It wouldn’t hurt to add the vehicle varient skins on the guns right? woodland, Tundra, Urban, etc. These guns are military weapons, and should at the least deserve some sort of camo.
Ooooo new H5 skins… I want a Sargent Johnson skin XD

The cause of that more often than not is that they are either employees, or community VIP’s. Possibly as a ploy for people to catch a glimpse at them get all excited and talk about them with more people. I’m afraid I’m just apart of a system.

I believe they were given to prominent screenshot artists to promote them. Same thing happened earlier on with the classic helmets.

ok, I guess I could see why they’d want the screenshot artists to make screenshots to promote the new skins. But, I can’t help but feeling like that’s a little unfair, especially since they already get a Fire Unicorn skin. Not a huge deal, though

I think they could be selected in a little bit of a different manner. Instead of just giving it to the reputable artists I’d rather see them do some sort of contest or something. That way everyone gets a shot.
