I know 343 is trying to make the best halo game but what about canon? The new grunts reptilian appearance instead arthropods. Does Frankie even care about this change? I know 343 is making their own game but when halo 4 comes out does the new grunt consider its canon.
Yeah, and how come they don’t need their methane masks anymore!
> Yeah, and how come they don’t need their methane masks anymore!
They still need to breath methane, but now it seems that they have a tube going into their nose rather than having to wear a full mask.
However, some still have a full mask.
Methane is being fed into their nostrals. You can see the snout-tube. Maybe they’ll change the appearance?
They do still use methane life-support systems, it’s just that the breathing apparatus is on the nose, not the mouth, likely so that they can speak more easily, or eat without having to enter a special gas-filled room or something.
> Moulting can involve the epidermis (skin), pelage (hair, fur, wool), or other external layer. In some species, other body parts may be shed, for example, wings in some insects. Examples include old feathers in birds, old hairs in mammals (especially dogs and other canidae), old skin in reptiles, and the entire exoskeleton in arthropods.
Because an arthropod can share many things in common with a reptile.
If I may ask, how come the “avian” Kig-Yar don’t have inverted pelvis’?
> Yeah, and how come they don’t need their methane masks anymore!
You didnt notice the tube going from the grunts methane tank to its nose?
OP I like the look of the grunt but it doesnt seem right to just change them so much.
I bet they’ll change it, or at least are aware of it.

Ok, yeah I do see that now. I didn’t see it when I fist looked at it. But I do like the methane masks for the appearance better.

Don’t think reptiles would last very long on Balaho, their homeworld, it’s VERY cold.
I have some theory’s
If you dont mind of course
Could they be molting?
I mean they are crab people so wouldnt they half to remove their shell at a certain season so they could grow a bigger one?
that would explain the scale like things on the arms and legs, their just regrowing the shell back
or could they be genetically altered
we know the majority of grunts during the war were born in factory’s like cattle and mass born so they could easily be replaced
Would it not be to hard to believe those born in factory’s would sooner or later be altered so they could perform more task then before?
what are your thoughts

That implies those factories are still running after the collapse of the Covenant, which doesn’t seem to be the case.
They look so bad also, can 343 do anything right?
I thought it has always been canon that they were reptilian.
This “change” doesn’t bother me though, it’s a Grunt. It’s tiny and small, does Grunt things and serves a Grunt role.

actually the factory’s stayed open and are run by grunts or elites to fit new military needs
> actually the factory’s stayed open and are run by grunts or elites to fit new military needs
The Elites don’t even know how to build and maintain their own ships, I doubt they’d be able to keep a Grunt factory open. I also doubt the Grunts would just willingly subjugate themselves to this role.

but they made the factory’s. that’s the one thing they did make
and were talking about the same short crab people right?
the ones who kill them selves when in danger
the ones who suck down food -Yoink!-
the ones who pretty much suck up to every thing stronger then them.
also can some one answer this question
elites know how to make a artificial drone colony
and drones know how to fix the ships
so why can they just mass birth drones to fix their ships
are the drones on strike or what?
> but they made the factory’s. that’s the one thing they did make
With the aid of the Prophets, once they left, there goes the knowledge.

Google Great Grunt Rebellion. That needed an Arbiter to quell.

You make it sound like the Elites can just do anything when it’s established they have trouble doing a basic thing like farming.
> elites know how to make a artificial drone colony
No they don’t.
