No, not for multiplayer, but it would be great for campaign.
The “Freeze” effect would be more like a Stasis and be particularly effective against vehicles, esp a large Banished mech where you could put a Turret or leg joint into “Stasis” immobilizing it for a short time.
It would be Balanced by the fact that while that Unit or Part is in a Slipspace “Bubble”, you can’t damage it but it buys you time to deal with other enemies. However, upon being activated, the Slipspace Stasis would send out a damage radius “Pulse” on the outside it’s causing Area effect damage to nearby units, comparable to the electrical grenade or the Original damage points dished out by the Ravager from the Infinite Beta.
It would be like Reverse Armor lock, and could turn a losing battle in your favor with Strategic gameplay.
A Player/unit in the temporary Stasis would not be able to fully see their surroundings and it would be obscured like frosted glass or a thick shield/like effect
If they aren’t adding any new vehicles, weapons or equipment then I’m 100% done with Halo.
What is the point of the “Live Service” of the game then besides maps and cosmetics ?
-Yoink!- Cod Vanguard already has new maps, new vehicles, 4 new weapons and new zombies maps already. Halo needs to catch up and Innovate and evolve it’s sandbox.
Halo’s sandbox is a lot more delicate than something like CoD. There is literally no point to add redundant weapons (which most other games that add gameplay items post launch encounter that issue)
I’m all for new weapons and vehicles and stuff in customs and forge, but not in MP.
They could work in campaign too I guess since the balancing isn’t as hard there
The Sandbox feels really nerfed with slow fire rates ( Stalker Rifle, Lightning Rifle ), slow reload rates ( Hydra, other weapons ) and low damage ( Bulldog, Ravager ) to make it more noob friendly.
They had those grenades in Timeshift. They’re super strong.
Feel like they could have some cool applications for multiplayer though with slowing down rockets, vehicles, bullets and enemies. Feel like they’d need a solid counter though or an extremely tight circle of impact.
Shock rifle can 1 shot people if they hit the head and that is more of an anti-vehicle gun
Stalker rifle has a slower fire rate because of its range and damage.
Hydra also takes 3 hits to kill and can track
Ravager is just stupidly weak but the Bulldog is a good gun, 2-3 shots to kill and decent fire rate
This sounds to much like destiny 2 stasis abilities and calling it a slip space grenade would make no sense cause slip space doesn’t freeze things it would probably just teleport you out of the map or erase you instantly
Personally id prefer a needler and repulser if someone was coming at me with a energy sword hit him with needles if he gets to close hit him with the repulser then finish him
And this armor lock grenade should only give you a brief moment to distance yourself from enemy and you shouldnt be able to damage someone in armor lock and can only effect one person and if we go with this other idea for a slip space grenade it should teleport enemy safely to another part of the map honestly im not to big on either if these ideas because im good with the counters we got but i think this is more fair for both players and is more up your ally but also maybe lore issues with the slip space grenade
Yeah, the player effected can’t be damaged and that would be interesting if they could be teleported backwards several meters ESP if it was a flag carrier.
Titanfall 2 had Gravity grenades that could do that to bullets. It would also work well with the grapple since that was one of the only ways to escape the gravity star. It was a low damage grenade because it made the enemy vulnerable to other weapons.
