new grenade idea: ice grenade

hey guys, i have been thinking of some juicy ideas to spice up halo 6 gameplay, and i think i found the solution.

presenting the ICE GRENADE

heres how it works. picture this, u see a lot of enemies in a room that are going to kill you. but then you pop out an ice grenade and throw it into the room. the ice grenade explodes (not doing that much damage) and everyone in the room gets covered in ice. this makes it so the people that get hit can’t moved until the ice melts. im thinking that the ice will melt in like 30 seconds. players fully covered in ice will have a chance to die of hypothermia, while the others people that werent hit too bad by the grenade will just move slower and have the shivers.

Or just bring the anti-gravity grenade from CoD Infinity Warfare

i would like that to, but this is a new fresh spin that would rly help halo imo

I read “Juicy” and came to report in for duty.

Players to be stuck for 30 seconds would be too op. Basically a sure kill. I’d make it 2-5 seconds because even then it’s a sure kill

Call it a Cryo Bomb or Stasis Grenade and don’t include it on multiplayer maps (except in Forge) and sure, I’ll give it a go… as long as you shorten it from 30 seconds.

Not sure if this is a serious thread so I’ll give two answers.

Not serious: Once you freeze them, you can go up and give them an uppercut for a fatality Sub-Zero style.

Serious: So a reverse armor lock? This would be way too OP and slow gameplay down to a halt which isn’t good.

I think stasis grenades make more sense since ice wouldn’t really affect the Spartans.

Cool idea for PvE though I think 30 seconds is a bit much, maybe 3-5 seconds? PvP that would be ridiculous OP, maybe it could just slow your movement and weapon swapping down or something along those lines.

I like the concept but instead of ice I think some forerunner stun grenade that does the same thing would fit in better. also 30 seconds feels a little op. I’d rather have a 5 second immobility time and then 3-5 seconds of moving slow after you’re unfrozen.

I agree with this. It’s way too OP. Maybe it’s 3-5 sec and it only delays shield recharging or something.

What is this? Does that even sound remotely what halo is about? Idk if I’ve ever thrown out an idea quicker…moving on…

30 seconds it’s out of reality, maybe five or six seconds to frozen completely. Maybe less 3 to 4 seconds to frozen the enemy completely

Maybe should be cool, but I think the gameplay needs to be very fast and dynamic. A QTE fatality will be easier to other oponnents to take you down.

I don’t know about this grenade, what it does?

Sounds WAAAY to OP.

Sounds like the cut weapon from halo 4 the stasis rifle check out the video Halo 4 - Unused Weapons Compilation - YouTube

I prefer the Brute incendiary grenade, especially vs Flood

If we really want to help Halo, let’s fix the existing mistakes before potentially creating more. Not saying an ice grenade is a bad idea, but there is nothing wrong with the original grenade set. Are frag and plasma grenades alone not fun enough? I don’t think having 10 grenades to choose from will suddenly save Halo from the disaster of the last two games much less make it more playable. I didn’t play CE thinking, “damn, this game would be way cooler if I had ice grenades…” I was probably too busy wiping my -Yoink- with Covenant to give a -Yoink-.

I mean H5 has that void thing with Void’s Tear, H2 Beam rifle Delta and Grinder. What not have a throw-able grenade version? Thb theres a lot of REQs that can be removed because they do such small improvements and changes (increased ammo, less recoil etc) but ones that have major changes can stay. Now imagine the Plasma caster having Scourge of Fire removed and replaced with a Caster that launches the void grenades (slower fire rate for balancing) and when you charge it it fires a slower shot that deals massive damage in a void.

Id rather see the incin grenade or spike grenade come back. Those were a. lot of fun

I think forcing a player to stand still for some seconds is a bit overwhelming and I can see that type of grenade causing cheap tactics. I’d rather have the Firebomb grenade from Halo 3 return (altho I think it’s unlikely since it’s Brute tech).
