New Glitch discovered REACH-fair game for MM

This is how to manipulate a forge map to get extra blocks of a list

___WITHOUT MODDING___AKA FAIR GAME TO POST ON MM___also since its not a mod rewrite there is less lag than a mod if you over abuse it but so fat I have none

requirenments

2x xbox’s --wireless–
halo reach disc
halo reach downloaded game

and a ethernet cord for a system link

download the halo reach game to both consoles one will have the licenses the other will not

on the console with the license sign on with an alternate account and wait in dashboard for further instructions

now sign your main account that owns all the downloads onto the xbox that came second

both xbox’s must be connected to xbox live

system link with an ethernet cord

with the alt load the game from the disk

go into forge place down all blocks you wanna copy

with BOTH accounts prepare to save as new but dont click the last button selection

turn off router aka unplug

the second xbox will receive a notice to get on live within 8 min as soon as this pops up a third player signs in this one then the main must sign out

wait for the timer as the third player to run out as soon as you see a screen change mash the button that finalizes the save. it starts but doesnt finish saving so dont worry thats what you want.

the main will sign into the first xbox still disconnected from xbox live.

connect your router and wait for it to go active

while still loaded in reach he will pull up the xbox button shortcut and scroll over to quickplay -without leaving the game of reach-.

at the same time as putting the disc in the second xbox.

this will sign him into live while for some reason thinking he is one 2 reach’s or whatever thats all I can think of as to why

once you get the second xbox back on re-load the map all your blocks will still be there and your actual list is still full as it was from the very start

also deleting the copyed items will not effect you cash or list whatsoever

this being known there is nothing keeping overlimits for getting on mm now

as it was in halo 3 any maps that were different were still posted glitch or not
though mods weren’t posted at all

so officially be it an overlimit or not there is no way of proving it is or is not as it is possible

In Halo 3, people didn’t actually do any sort of glitch, Sandbox as a map had more objects placed than the budget allowed to start of with when you delete them all and re-place them, meaning people would move them out the way and use said objects to make the map without worrying about the budget so much.

However, in Reach, four player split screen + a lot of forge objects = a lot of fps drops.
The budget is there to prevent the fps drops as best as possible, however it still occurs, this map won’t help many looking to submit a map to matchmaking as it could result in worse FPS drops.

Regardless, good topic.

I know that thats why I mentioned it

a glitch is permitable

a mod is not

Im from H1

my testing verified that -WE- can infact_____copy blocks in reach without modding

just to clarify I won the LC2011 forge contest the map is hollow refugee its on my fileshare if you wanted to see who won and with what

but right now Im rapping up another update to my last resort

This sounds like the Infinite Budget Glitch from Halo 3. Bungie said that any map using the IBG wouldn’t be used in matchmaking, but since it was a glitch and not a mod, people could use it freely in custom games. I’m sure 343 Industries would have a similar stance for Halo: Reach, but the bigger problem–like The Little Moa brought up–is frame rate issues; good Forgers are efficient. If your goal is to get your map in matchmaking, use as few blocks as possible and limit your aesthetic details, especially those that are out of bounds.

The only case where I could see this glitch being really useful is in getting extra units of a limited category–like, for example, getting 48 landmines instead of 24 or 20 golf balls instead of 10. If it wasn’t such a complicated process and didn’t require 2 xboxes…

Technically, this glitch is more “cheating” than my canvases. I place each object myself. Nothing is copied, which seems to be the case with your glitch.

I wouldn’t say that much. 343i has never stated what they plan on doing with any Matchmaking submissions that contain or leverage glitches or exploits; they may have a private no-glitches policy.

Anyone looking to get a map into Matchmaking should probably use this glitch only as a last resort, when no other optimizations are possible. AFAIK there’s no way to know whether 343i plans on disqualifying glitched maps, so better safe than sorry.

Not quite. There was an “infinite budget glitch” in Halo 3 (several, actually).

The thing with Sandbox was a separate bug. All Forge map variants have a global object limit. In Halo 3, objects that were on the map by default counted toward the limit even if they were deleted in Forge; I believe the Forge community called such items “OLN objects”.
