hello all!
i’m new too the forums here at the Halo Community and Way-point. when Halo first game out i was a huge fan i played the first 2 games of the series and stopped gaming for a while. last year i purchased Halo 3 and this year Reach to get back into the swing of things. i mainly played Halo for the campaign, tried multiplayer(Halo 1 or 2 maybe? cant remember) and it never struck any interest to me. well i pre-ordered the Halo 4 xbox 360 bundle and i’m really excited to really get back into the campaign and multiplayer mode.
being that i have never really played Halo multiplayer the way i do Call of Duty(i’m aware it’s two totally different styles of FPS) would it be difficult for someone like me who’s pretty much new to Halo Multiplayer to catch on to how it works?
Halo what is Halo Waypoint exactly? is it similar to Call of Duty’s Elite service?
i never played Halo ODST/Wars, am i missing any crucial points to the story from not playing that game? from what i’ve seen it doesnt seem like it apart of the main story like the others? please correct me if i’m wrong.
thanks.
There’s a slight learning curve to Halo, but once you master it (it shouldn’t take very long) you’ll quickly fall into place. As for Waypoint, its a place where all your stats are stored, as well as a place to talk and share your stuff with other members of the community. If you get to know your way around and start getting to know people, you’ll discover its an awesome place to be!
thanks for the response! I’m looking forward to being apart of the online Halo community and getting into the online multiplayer aspect of it as well.

No problem! I’m sure you’ll love it.
Welcome to the community. You try and post a introduction in the Roll Call forum when you can. Any fan wanting to play halo is always a halo fan.
Multiplayer is a beast of its own, but don’t let it scare you! Find a few friends to play with (the Recruiting section is good for this), and hop on in!
You won’t miss any crucial pieces of information by not playing ODST or Wars, but I’d definitely recommend picking 'em up! ODST is my favorite campaign!
Waypoint is essentially the “hub” for all new Halo information. The forums are just a place to discuss said information!
If you have any more questions, feel free to post 'em or fire off a Private Message to me!
PS: Create a thread in the Roll Call section, so we can get to know you better!
If you need somebody to teach you, you could always add me. I don’t play Reach too much but I still play Halo 3 like nobodies business.
thanks for the reply everybody, i’m really excited for this Halo 4 release!
Ah! I haven’t done this in a while.

You’re not missing too much without ODST and halo wars however as a big halo wars fan, I will say that you should really get it if you can. It’s the most successful console RTS and it has a good story! The gameplay is nice as well!
Here there are also forums. You can use the forums to communicate! There are however rules and guidelines so make sure you familiarize yourself with them.
Please be nice, respectful, civilized. Keep the waypoint spirit. Welcome to halo waypoint, please enjoy your stay! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Btw it took me about 3/4 months of constantly playing Halo to finally get a hold of it (both Campaign and MP)… just give it some time and stay in a good team and if your doing bad, your team will show you how to do good.
