Old school Halo fan here… i gotta say at first i was skeptical. but with all the talk about how there is no longer loadouts, perks, ordnance drops. and how we are finally getting descoping back and how gameplay will revolve around weapon and map control. im starting to get excited.
everyone seems to be worried about this so called ADS, which in reality is just an animation. because it serves no benefit other than seeing your opponent better. so im not worried about it at all,
I LOVE the fact that these new abilities are available for everyone at all times and not something that you can only pick one at a time. lets face it guys the series has to evolve and this is just enough change to keep things interesting and yet still keep the halo core. which is all about weapon/map control.
i just like the whole Iron man suit feel to the whole thing. it looks fast and competitive which is something im really looking forward to. now im sure there will be over powered things or mechanics that just dont work. but thats what the beta is for, we will voice our opinions on the things we do and dont like and 343 has almost a year to take our wants and implement them. I just cant wait for the beta so i can try these new things out
thoughts?
oh and those stabilizers doe… the animations in this game look fantastic!
Halo 5 isn’t being made for the oldschool audience or the younger casual audience. It is targeted towards the eSports crowd while remaining true to the barebones Halo elements. People complaining about the new changes need to realize that this game is not for them. The eSports crowd outnumbers the Halo faithful, and that is who 343i is going for. I agree with their changes and it’s the best way to make Halo relevant for modern audiences.
You don’t even see your opponent better, the old zoom was better and had a better feel to it too.

By looking at the more “relevent” “modern” Halo games, oh boy did their population die off quick!!! CoD fans are going to play CoD, Battlefield fans are going to play Battlefield, and Halo fans are going to play… er, umm, oh wait, nevermind, Halo fans are having their game series stolen from them.

Quote for truth!
This game wasn’t built for you elite purists! It was built for the MLG crowd! And you know what they’re saying about this game after ACTUALLY PLAYING IT? They love it!

Just like they LOVED Halo 4 when they played it before anybody else.

Halo: Reach was an experiment with a new element, and the old halo could still be played with custom settings. It still had a presence in MLG but not as big as Halo 3. Halo 4 was trying to be CoD. CoD is about progression, unlocking perks, weapons, and attachments, and twitch style gameplay. Halo 4 attempted to merge CoD into it but it was an unbalanced mess. Halo 5 is designed around balanced arena gameplay with a little visual flare. Adam Kovic explained they want a game that is not only fun to play but is fun to watch. They are going for the eSports players above all else.

Another one?
Otherwise, I think Halo 5 looks fun. All people who have played the Beta says its great, so I’m quite excited to try it.

There was nothing good about zooming in, it feels weird and unintuitive, kinda like having a character aiming without the arms. Adding ADs animations makes it feel more immersive and fun to play. I

Im a Halo old timer, and i play everything else. When people left Halo 4 they went straight to Black Ops 2. A great part of the ld Halo fanbase has moved on to more rewarding and modern experiences, this is something that happens with every franchise that stagnates.
As for your question, what Halo fans are going to play (presuming they have limited tastes) is the MCC.

Haha I believe it was Naded who in an interview after first playing halo 4 said it was the best halo yet. This is what all the pros do I think partially because it’d be too awkward to say otherwise straight after being invited by the dev to play but mostly because as it’s their major source of income and there’s no point jeopardising that until they know there’s no money to be made.
