New Gametype: Tug of War

Basically Infection mixed with Slayer.
When you kill an enemy player, he is automatically brought over to your team.
It starts off being 4v4v4v4.

Imagine how fun this would be.
You go in with friends, all on the same team.
But towards the end, you’re all on different teams.

I personally think this would be a fun and unique gametype.
What do you guys think?
Any ideas to add?

What happens when a team completely dies off and gets converted? In theory, all players could get converted to one big team. So how do you win?

I do like the idea, but a little more detail would get me onboard 100%

Good point. The concept is actually pretty interesting to me but there are a few details that need to be ironed out like determining a winner. Unless it scores based off original teams?

I think it’s a good idea.

This has been suggested before. The main argument usually is that one player who is brought over could purposely betray or hinder their new team to help their original one, or let them boost off him.

if it was just 2 teams and once one team has all the players, that team should win, I guess it would only be a one round thing though.

Like each player has 5 lives/ conversions or something?

I don’t usually support friendly fire being disabled, but I think it would have to be in this mode.

“Welcome to my team, here have a bullet.” Bang…

How about a non infection version where both teams start off with 500 points and each kill lends that team 10 points and removes 10 points from the other and they keep fighting till one team hits zero?

That sounds like it would have the potential to be endless. I prefer the OP’s idea.

There are three ways to win.

  1. By reaching the Score Limit of maybe 50 Kills.
  2. By having the most points when the game ends after about 12-15 minutes.
  3. By converting all enemy players to one team.
    In which case, everyone wins.

This gametype would obviously be in Social, rather than Ranked.

Yea maybe you can only switch 4 or 5 times between teams till you are out of lives.

Kinda sounds like spy vs mercenary.
