I have been wondering how a game would look if we turned firefight into war? Just imagine it.
One team of 4 Spartans leading a rag tag team vs Elites leading a rag tag team in a all out battle.
By God it be bloody.
But it has to work in a way to where it makes sense. So Heres what I have thought up to make this work with out question. SO Here is my plan. Please read and tell me what you think.
Maps.
This works on any non forge map. It plays much like invasion but with out objectives.
There are 2 important areas on the map giving some advantages but also have cons
Replenishment Case: This is a case that comes with a free ammo clip but has a radio letting you call for backup or new weapons. Ex.Say your squads down 2 men. You just pay 50 Cr (a game type token that we will talk more about soon) and you get one of your back up members. This is a very good place to take command of but is normally with very little cover.
Dog Hut: The next Is known as a Dog Hut. It gives large amounts of cover and for a non cheap price you can buy a random vehicle. Sadly its “random” which makes you some times wonder “Did I just waste 1000 Cr for a mongoose”. Because of this slight feature you may not want to take it seance its not always a box of gold.
Squads
Before the match begins you get 30 seconds to make 2 squads. Your main squad and your back up squad which are used to replace your dead squad members at a Replenishment Case. In each squad you can have a max of 4 people. Depending who you pick will determine the cost. You start out with 1000 credits that can be used to buy solders. Any credits left can be used at a Replenishment Case or Dog Hut. There are some with Special Uses (S.U.) that help out in small ways.
Here is the list of available recruits.
UNSC
Civilian-Cost:50 Cr. Description:Weak. Scare easy. Constantly takes cover, cower easy. Use only magnums, won’t switch guns. Won’t get in vehicles. S.U.:Buy Out:All things except troops are 10% cheaper.
Farmer-Cost:75 Cr. Description:Weak. Brave. Takes little cover, fights with out question. Uses Shot guns, will switch for Assault rifles. Will Only get in passenger side.
Medic-Cost:110 Cr. Description :Weak. Weary. Constantly takes cover, fights with fear. Uses Magnum, won’t switch guns. Will Only get in passenger side. S.U.:First Aid: Heals health of damaged teammates and gives you +5% health increase.
Marine-Cost:125 Cr. Description:Medium. Weary. Takes cover, fights with fear. Uses Assault riffle, will switch for shotgun or DMR/battle rifle. Will only get in gunner. S.U.:Brave Scout: When sent on “Hunt” They will be slightly stronger.
Sgt Marine-Cost:250 Cr. Description: Medium. Brave. Takes some cover, fights with out question. Uses DMR/Battle rifle, Will switch for Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Magnum, or Rocket. Will take any spot in a vehicle.
ODST-Cost:300 Cr. Description: Strong. Brave. Takes cover, Fights without question. Uses DMR/Battle rifle, switches with any weapon except covenant. Will take any spot in a vehicle.
Covenant
Grunt-Cost:30 Cr. Description:Weak. Scare easy. Constantly avoid cover, Cower easy. Uses only Plasma Pistol, Won’t switch guns. Won’t get in vehicles. S.U.:Suicide relief: After you die any in your group at the time will go suicide.
Jackal Sniper-Cost:75 Cr. Description:Weak. Weary. Takes little cover, Fights with fear. Uses Needle Rifle, will switch for plasma pistol. Won’t get in vehicles.
Jackal-Cost:100 Cr. Description:Weak. Brave. Carry’s own cover, Fights without question. Uses Needler, Will switch for plasma pistol. Won’t get in vehicles.
Engineer-Cost:105 CR. Description:Weak. Does not fight but can float. Uses nothing. Can’t get in vehicles.
S.U.:Electric Zap: gives you a personal over shield and gives vehicles 10% more health.
Brute Minor-Cost:250 Cr. Description:Medium. Questioning. Takes cover, Won’t follow commands well. Uses spiker, Will switch with any weapon except melee or UNSC. Will take any spot in a vehicle. S.U:Savage Beast:When set on “Hunt” will highjack or completely destroy any vehicles it finds.
Brute Captain-Cost:300 Cr. Description:Strong. Brave. Takes cover, Fights with out question. Uses spiker, Will Switch with any weapon except melee or UNSC. Will take any spot in a vehicle.
Using the D-pad you can control your squad to do certain things.
Up=Guard Area: Will stay in area the command was given in. If “Questioning” it will Go “Hunt”.
Left=Hunt:Will leave you and go look for enemy. If a enemy is found they will radio you and a waypoint will pop up.
Down=Return: If they are away they will come back. If “Questioning” or “Scare easy” it will guard area.
As you can see the Cr used to buy troops can mess you up big time if you waste it all on a few marines or brutes.
What are Cr and how are they used?
Cr are in game tokens not used out of this game type. They are sorta a limiting factor to make sure you don’t just spam better equipment.
Durring the game you can get Cr tokens for killing people. 50 for killing a medium-weak squad mate and 100 for killing a Strong-Player .
Customs
In customs you can choose for many things. Such as changing the limit or making it so people can use some troops or locations. Sadly this game type does not work on forge maps because AI are sorta dumb when it comes to that stuff.
Game Types
In this game there are minor game types that add to its play style.
Skirmish: Players get 5 lives each and go alien vs human. One side wins when the other has run out of lives.
Civil War: Players get 5 lives each and go alien vs alien or human vs human. One side wins when the other has run out of lives
Conquest: Players get 8 Lives each and go alien vs human. One side wins when all territories are captured or when the other side runs out.
Extinction: Players get 2 Lives each and go alien vs human. One side wins when the other has run out of lives and squad members. Unlike other game types in Skirmish You get 1500 Cr to make up for those little lives.
I think this would be really fun and give a feeling of war to the game
