New Gamemode. Points.

So I was thinking of an interesting twist on slayer. And after 343 introduced Hotshots it came to me. A sort of Slayer with a totally new type of scoring.

Now instead of getting points for a kill, or a single point for a kill you gain points based on how much damage each shot does.

Now for example if you shoot a guy 4 times with a RIFLE that does 20 points of damage you would have a score of 80. If you shoot a guy 15 times with an SMG gun that does 5 points of damage then you do 75 (Just examples)

Each person has the same points on them. 100 for health and 100 for armor (armor can regen so it is possible to get more then 200 points off one person)

Killing. Assists. Deaths

Killing does not give you extra points. You only get points based on damage. Which means if someone does 90% of the work you will only get a slight amount of points. The one who does all the work gets more points, as it should be. It’s pretty much impossible to get an assist, because points are points, the kill is not worth extra.

Being killed will not take away points. Of course it would be an option for the game. Such as each point of damage does half a point on you. And so on.

Explosives, Vehicles, Whackin n suicide

Explosives are complicated. However it will work on points and distance. A grenande may do 50 points if it’s right under someone, But ever “X” feet it will do half of that (Up to say max distance which it would only do 5) Wraiths and Tanks just do direct damage. Same thing.

Running over someone would do all damage. Max point taking. A gun does the amount of damage.

A melee will do damage based on where you hit and what weapon. Swords and Blades>Large Weapons>Mid Size Weapons>Small weapons>Fists

Suicide just takes off 200 points.

Interesting, for sure. It sounds like a game mode someone else mentioned a little while ago (actually it may have been you) where scoring was done differently for either rank or something of the like.

Either way it sounds fun, and sounds like it could fit into a play style similar to KotH where you need to be in a select zone for the points to accrue. I would say that killing SHOULD have something beneficial towards it though, even if it is only an extra 5-10 points. Something small that promotes eliminating the player as opposed to damaging them and letting them flee.

The other gametype idea I had was mixing slayer and objectives. One of them was having it where owning a Territory would give you more points per kill and such, This could mix with this perfectly.

Sound like fun! Especially in Rumble Pit/FFA

Would be so fun for FFA, its nice to see an actual legitimate and possible idea for a new game mode. I would much rather have this over stockpile or headhunter.

I’m all for it as long as it’s a gametype and doesnt spread into the regular stuff

yea prefer this to be a stand alone gametype like infection or headhunter. good idea though.
