Space has always been a big part of Halo even though we can’t play in space (maps like anchor nine) don’t count. So I suggest a space game called space conquest.
So the map design is pretty simple one human ship and covenant ship. In a constant circle. With a few asteroids floating around the map. The asteroids can be destroyed. The ships will have a hanger an engine room, a bridge, and a sheild room. Rooms that a ship would have but a lot of them locked. The hangers for the humans will have a pelican very strong but very slow. It would be able to transport large amounts of they team. Next a shortsword which is slow but not as slow as the pelican. It is able to drop high powerful bombs on the enemy team. Next a saber would be the normal attack vehicle. Normal health fast speed not so powerful weapons. Last longsword interceptor, it is extremely fast but also very weak once again average weapons. But not only ships there are also weapons systems through out the ship. In the bridge there weapon consoles. Different types of weapon systems. One gauss cannons heat seeking missiles, and chain guns. There are also cameras on the inside and outside of the ship viewable from the bridge. The cameras and the cannons can get destroyed. As for the covenant. In their hanger to counter the pelican they have a phantom. To counter the shortsword they have the gigas. For the saber they have the sereph. And for the longsword they have the space banshee. Their bridge is pretty much the same. Except for the weapons. Their weapons are the same only plasma based.
The goal is to destroy the enemy team’s ship.
The game will start with mass rush from the spawn room to the hanger to get a ship. There would be enough ships for everyone. Or maybe go towards the ships defenses in the bridge.
First they must destroy the shield generator of the other team. They must get ship from the hanger and get in their ship cause no one can get out of the ship without a ship.
After the overload the shield generator by planting a grenade in the exhaust port. The player will then have to destroy the ship’s engines. Third the player will take a pelican or phantom with a bomb on board then detonate it inside the ship shutting down defense systems readying the ship for a final blow. And at the end the humans will get to the bridge and fire the Mac canon. Which will the win the game. For the covenant if their engines are still online they activate the final weapon which the ship will fly over the other and blast it with the glassing mechanism. If their engines aren’t online then. A antimatter bomb will be launched out to the covenant ship and it will explode killing the enemy ship, by the press of a button on the bridge.
The ship’s hallways and rooms will have cameras to view from the bridge and sentry guns all of which can get destroyed by the enemy no friendly fire. All the rooms will have automatic doors some of which do not open. I would say that this game type would probably need more than 16 people if possible but I guess 16 could work if the boundaries of the map were not too huge.

Battlefront 2 did kind of inspire the idea just with a few tweaks.
Words cannot describe just how much I want a Battlefront game for Halo.
Not the shortsword. Not even a redone one. in Custom edition maps that thing literally nukes people.

How about a falcon adapted for space?
It can have two passengers in turrets that fire RPGs (the turrets are isolated obviously)

So it’s basically the space Battles for Star Wars Battlefront 2. OP you’re not the only one who dreams of these ideas. Halo would be perfect for this type of combat.

It would have to be about 32 players. There’s no way 8 VS 8 would work for this.
You know how the space battles in BF2 also has the support ships. The UNSC can have UNSC Charon-class light frigates, and the Covenant can have Corvettes. Each side can have 5 which will move around the map. Also they could fire on the enemies support ships, and capital ship. You could also board them, and take over them.
In BF2 the capital ships stayed in the same spot. For your idea they could move around. Also in BF2 you were able to take control of the ships anti-fighter turrets.
Also for a different game type. If you played Elite squadron. You were able to launch from space, and fly down to the planets surface. Or you could start on the ground, and find a fighter to go into space. So there was a ground, and space battle going on. That good also work for Halo.

Well there would be ai in the sense of the sentry guns inside the ship but yeah I do agree, but on the other hand I don’t think halo is going to rise its player count in a lobby

A.I.: They could be in control of the capital ships if no human players are. Also if there’s not enough people on a team they can fill in those spots.
Higher player count: Definitely. The player count needs to be 32. You need at least 16 people on both teams for it to work right. If possible you can have a player count of 50 people.
In a perfect world there would people filling pelicans and phantoms to the max of players and trying to transport them to the enemy ship while all the cannons in the bridge are being manned and there are like 10 fighters/bombers out in space but I just don’t think that is possible. But on another note imagine just for laughs in custom games and forge you could fly the capitol ships at each other that would be awesome. If you would to check this out in forge it should just be nothing but space so people could have a good forging map and everything would be zero g unless you put a gravity field and all the ships would just be like objective makers so they are sill deleteable. And yet another note no kill boundaries the map it should have the type like in long night of solace that just turn the ship around.

Back then 16 players worked. But now it’s just primitive, and it kinda ruins Forge.
Let’s take Forge World. They give you this huge area to work with. You make a map for a large scale battle. But do to the player count only being 16 players. It kills the whole point of you making the map. Because you don’t have enough people for it to work right.
Also if the player count is increased we might have more vehicles available to us.
For Example: The transport-hog. It sets 5 people. You only have 8 on a team. So almost your entire team would be in that one vehicle. If you have a max player count of 32 people. Divided up that would be 16 people on a team. 5 would be in that vehicle, the 11 rest would still be available.
Also you can have different Big Team gamytypes.
Classic Big Team: Max of 16 players.
Big Team: Max of 32 players.
I think that we can all agree that if done properly, this would be a great addition to Halo 4, but in reality no one can speak for the Halo 4 Forum.
