New Game Modes. Add your own

Here is my contribution to this thread; hope you like the ideas!

Bounty Hunter
FFA gametype. Everybody starts the game with a score of zero and a bounty of zero. When you kill somebody your bounty increases. This continues until you die then your bounty resets. You gain extra points for killing opponents with high bounties. You also get bonus points if you achieve a high bounty. You get more points for getting a bounty of 8 than killing somebody with a bounty of 8. You bounty appears above your head when targeted, and after you reach a certain limit your bounty number and tag can be seen by everybody (including through walls).

Extermination FFA Extermination & Team Extermination on Commando484z’s file share
Team slayer/FFA gametype. Everybody starts with a set number of lives. You fight to the death. Survivors get bonus credits when the game ends.

Betting Match
Spectator/any slayer gametype. You bet credits as to which team will win the game, who will score the most kills and other factors similar to that. You will be rewarded in credits if what you bet comes true. If you loose the bet you loose the credits you bet. The more high risk your bet is the more credits you will receive if you win. You can only bet a maximum amount of credits (1000 or something) to stop boosting and other problems.

Heavy Ordinance Infection
Infection gametype. Humans are armed with rocket launchers and Spartan lasers with never ending ammo. Infection are armed with swords, infinite good invis, and a higher jump hight.

Grumpy Grampa’s [Glorious Golf Day] (GG) and G.G Evolutions (GGE) Now On my File Share along with 2 maps specifically designed for it
A special FFA once a month gametype. Everybody is armed with golf clubs, swords and 2 plasma grenades. The game is played on a host of close quarters maps with large sight lines (for throwing grenades). GGE is the same but with evade and is played on open arena maps. Although the name sounds dumb and so does the gametype this has to be one of the most funniest things to play with your mates in custom games. (Set to be on my file share soon along with 2 maps designed for it) Basically grifball slayer.

Team Switch [inspired/created/co-partnered by xX LONE WOLF 99 and II KaL I]
Alternative team slayer gametype or could be once a month special gametype. Everybody begins with even teams. When a member of red team is killed he joins blue team and vice versa. The winning team will gain all of the enemy team’s players

Marathon Race
Once a month special gametype. Run, jump and avoid obstacles to reach the finish! The maps could be designed by the community on forge. A new map is featured every month.

Juggernaut Zombie
An Alpha zombie infection variant. The alpha zombie is very slow but invincible and cannot be hurt. The main zombies are weak but very fast.

Tag
Infection/FFA/once a month special gametype. One player is the ‘tagger’. He has an energy sword as his primary weapon and has no secondary weapon. He is also invincible and his goal is to ‘tag’ (kill) anybody. After the tagger kills somebody he will become normal player. When the tagged player re-spawns they will be ‘it’ and will become the tagger. The winner is the player who is tagged the least. In case of a draw it is then the player who tagged the most people.

Phaser Team Slayer (needs a better name)
Team slayer gametype. Players are armed with a laser and a plasma pistol. The gametype is team slayer. This is a very simple but fun idea as it often leads to mass-ambushing and cross map lasering!

Shieldless slayer and other gametypes based around SuRroundeD By 1’s vision(/idea) which he sort of got from THFE
Gametypes without shields, 50% health and no headshots (to make things fair). Radar will be off (like in slayer pro) to provide a better experience. The gametype works in team objective, slayer, FFA and almost all other classic gametypes

Domination
A mix of territories and slayer - 8v8 (big team). The are 5 territories across a large map. The territories can be captured by either team and re-taken by the opposing team. Owning a territory for five seconds will earn your team one point. Killing an opponent will earn you three points. The first team to 300 points wins.

A.I defence An idea I modified/developed with Vespervin who deserves lots of the credit

8v8 objective gametype. Each player in the game gets a choice from 2 standard loadouts; hacker or marine. The player can make this choice after every death. The aim of the game is to reach the enemies mainframe and hack into it. ‘Hackers’ have the ability to hack into the enemies mainframe and steal their AI but while doing so are vulnerable as they cannot move or shoot). They are slightly faster than marines but are not so heavily armed (only a pistol and assault rifle) and cannot pick up weapons. They are also a different colour from the marines on their team so that they are more noticeable. After hacking a mainframe the ‘hacker’ must return to his team’s mainframe and upload the information without being killed. It is down to the marines to defend the hackers. Marines have more powerful weapons and can pick up weapons.

Dawn of the Dead
Protect the President from becoming infected! A mix of VIP and infection. As the game progresses the VIP becomes harder to defend as his guards turn into the undead!

Your bounty hunter idea is already a game mode in Halo 4. It’s called Regicide.

Capture the Chess: A combination of King of the Hill and Chess from Reach. You must get your team to all of ones side spots for Chess pieces, and then you capture the Chessboard. That’s a bit too far out there, probably.

Forge the Hill: There is one monitor on each team. Each monitor must find ways to keep enemy players out of the hill with Forge items while helping their team in. There would obviously be a limit to what kind of items and a strict forge budget.

Tug of War Infection: Like normal Infection, but humans who kill a zombie, the zombie gets converted back to a human. The starting zombies of the round can not become human.

Seems like it would be incredibly easy for humans. Someone gets killed, they go to the humans and get themselves killed so they can be human again. And how would it end, whichever side that has more people when time expires wins? Yeah, humans would win about every single time.

Give the humans hard to use weapons like ARs and GLs and double Zombie health then we’ll see how it goes.

why make it an infection gametype? It could work as a team slayer gametype instead then it could work. It is the best idea so far though.

Come on guys! Somebody must have made there own custom gametypes which they enjoyed or want some gametypes coming back to Halo 4.

I got that idea from Halo 3 in the first place. I fondly recall playing Tug of War on Sandbox in Halo 3.

Players weren’t converted to the other side, but a kill was worth 1 point and a death was negative 1 point to your team.

Indiana Jones: Basically a huge map with a Single Kill Ball chasing you and other players down a enclosed race track to a finish line. Mostly a Forge game already, but I would love to see a official map from 343 that acts as a race option on MM. I never laughed harder while playing this game with friends.

Kill the Leader

Every kill you get is one point but if you kill the leader you get 5 points. First person to 75 wins.

I actually have this gametype made in my file share if anyone is interested. it is like Juggernaut but you can kill everyone and the Leader has no specific traits(as of right now)

You mean like Red vs Blue, and for example; when a Red kills a Blue, the Blue is converted to Red team? Whichever team gets everyone on the same team or whichever team has the most people at the end wins? I like it.

@Natas, yeah I know. I thought you were just combining Game-types in the first place.

Okay, its’ not oringinal, and I forgot the name, but there was this gametype in Halo CE that was similiar to Assasin’s Creed Wanted mode.

Alright, first of all, remember a FFA setting.Got That? Okay, now imagine when you start the match,the game basically hands you a target.The target is indicated by a way point(or on your motion tracker)You, are to elimiate that target.But beware…Somebody has a target on you!So, you hunt you’re target, while you are being hunted!Oh, and if you see somebody else,and kill them, they give you no score.Basically, I would say Assassin’s Creed ripped this off from HAlo CE PC,but implemented a few changes.

This gametype(I think I remember), was called either Reverse Tag(I really don’t think so) or Accumalaion(that, I think so.

Alright, now another gametype,is another mode form Halo CE PC. Classic Phatom(here goes another long explanation:)

I can’t exactly remeber the deatials all so good now, but it’s really FFA,except everybody has good camo.SO, you have to use your advanced motion trackers, to oocate the enemy(I think the radius was bigger, but it wasn’t Enhanced mode)

Also, I didn’t come up with this or modify it or anything but, Ninjanaut. Juggernaut, but the Juggernaut is invisible. It’s so much fun in Halo 3 and Reach (I’ve never played it in Reach but I’m sure it’s possible).

seen this video, I’ve subscribed to these guys they are awesome! in a way they are my inspiration for the maps I’ve made.

Predator (+1 internetz for guessing inspiration) played this as a custom Infection gametype in ghost town with the dark effect on (can’t remember it’s proper name) and we made a makeshift base at one end in halo 3. Can’t remember all the settings but here goes.

game starts with 1 person as the predator. 3x shields crappy camo (its dark you dont need good camo, k?) with spartan laser & focus rifle.

Spartans start with normal stats with assault rifle and magnum.

Your objective: survive. If you die, your dead. No respawns. teamwork is essential in this game type if your caught on your own it’ll be incredibly hard to kill the predator. And if the predator plays properly using stealth it can get quite scary just waiting for the first person to drop or even the last person left alive! Not sure how this would work as a proper public match but I can tell you it’s crazy fun in custom games.

Grand Theft Auto - You have to go into the enemy base and steal their Warthog an drive it back to your base. This special Warthog will drive at half the speed of a normal warthog and has -25% health.
