New Game Mode Ideas

I think it would be amazing if they added in a gamemode similar to walker assault from star wars battlefront. One team could push up with a few mammoths while the other team would have to try and stop them. The attacking team would need to take control of outposts held by the defending team. Similar to warzone. This would allow the mammoth to move forward and the enemy team would spawn farther back. The attackers would keep pushing until the mammoth has reached the last base and the attackers have captured it. The defenders goal would be to prevent the capture of their outposts and to destroy the mammoth. You could equip each outpost with some the of weapons whether it is a rocket turret or a mac cannon that is automated. This would slowly destroy the mammoth. If the defenders were able to hold out until the mammoth is destroyed or until the time is up then they would win. After a round the sides flip. I also think it would be cool you added power ups for players to get. You could do this as something you pick up off of the ground like in star wars battlefront or I was thinking like the ordnance system from halo 4. Where players who play the objective and are high scoring because of it get rewarded. This system will encourage objective play and lead to less kill hungry players who dont play the objective or dont try to capture or defend it but use it for the kills. These power ups could give you various things like:
Attackers: Using the Mammoth’s Mac Cannon or a turret on the mammoth for a certain time limit like 30 seconds or even a minute depending on how powerful you want the abilities to be.
Being granted a “power” weapon like a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher. These would have limited amounts of ammunition so they are not too overpowered.
An overshield, speed boost, or damage power up.
A support squad like some sentinals or a squad of ODST’s who follow you around and give you the edge in combat. (This one isnt necessary it would just be cool)
Defenders: Ability to control a drone or get into the gunner’s seat of a ship and use one pass through of an air strike.
Using an outpost’s turret or mac cannon for 30 seconds or a minute depending on how powerful you want this to be.
A power weapon drop.
Boosts like overshield, speed boost or damage boost.
A squad to help you (once again it is not necessary but would be cool.)

I also think that there needs to be some vehicles place around the spawns of each team and around the map for players to use. It doesn’t have to be crazy like tanks and stuff because this should remain a gunfight without overpowered vehicles that can take out too many enemies and camp the objectives. That said there should be mongooses, gungooses and maybe a few warthogs. Nothing too crazythough. Also, please do not add the req system back into halo infinite.

They should just add Gun Game to Halo Infinite, something that’s always been in Custom games rather than the actual matchmaking mode of Halo

I’m going to boil this suggestion down to pure core mechanics. Walker assault is a version of Rush from the battlefield franchise, just with the first phase having the purpose swapped for each side (attackers defend the walkers, defenders attack the walkers). It then reverts to the standard attackers attacking defenders defending for phase 2 and 3. Rush just has all 3 phases as attackers attacking defenders defending. Warzone assault is the exact same as standard rush except instead of gaining ground to arm an objective you are gaining ground to capture a base or territory.
So technically we already have this however it’s the least popular warzone playlist and one of the least popular playlists of all, so do I think it’ll return? We’ll see.

Halo Reach had Invasion mode which was very similar to Rush. I loved playing it and in particular that one of the teams was Elites. If they brought back the mode and brought in other species as well that was be super cool. Give us Brutes, Flood, Jackals, Hunters. Could even give them different movement and shield stats. Make for a really fun and new Halo experience.

Bring back invasion and odst/reach firefight.You don’t need to add new game modes if you have others that people want back

  • Invasion! - King of Shade: King of the hill but hill is a Shade turret on train rails. Turret user is stronger than normal, everyone else a bit weaker than normal. - NEEEEE: Everyone has Needlers that have weaker homing, but the map is very angular and pretty claustrophobic, so needles ricochet everwhere. - Lone 2: Spartans hunt squad of 2 Hunters. - Mockpaign: 1-4 Players try to get from A to B or complete objective. Maps are sections from the campaign. In way are various units seen in campaign controlled by players, chosen at random or manually in pre game. (Sentinel Enforcer, Sword Elite, Grunt, Knight, Ghost). Depending on objective, some special units must be eliminated to win. Lesser units don’t need to be.
