Instead of only having Armor ablilities how would you guys like it if they gave you the option to use Specie Classes in Multiplayer . With Halos ever growing universe this is a huge possiblity and offers something no other game offer in a way that only Halo could. Example-Covenant(Every covenant member is playable even grunts)Flood(With different infective abilities)Prometheans(The extra models used in the beta builds could serve as new Forerunner character models)and Brutes. Just Imagine things like the Thruster Pack AA where it is a Spartan only AA Evade could be a covenant only and Teleportation for Prometheans. Flood would have stuff like the ability to lose body pieces after being wounded aesthetically(Like a zombie) and have the ability to summon other infected lifeforms like campaign enemies. Brutes have a rage meter they can use when weakened or after a couple of deaths that will speed there movement and make them go on all 4 legs(Like Halo 2 Campaign)like a werewolf and there attack is stronger than usual Plus they are more resistant to bullets. These are just ideas but instead of using rehashed things like sprint we should look to things that are already in front of us to be used in Multiplayer to make it more inovative.
A couple of years ago, during when Halo 3: ODST was being developed I created an idea in detail somewhere based on this premise. It simply wouldn’t work, however, in the genre Halo is most comfortable with.
For a game like this, I came to the conclusion that it would need to be entirely different and very balanced/fine-tuned. It definitely doesn’t work in the FPS genre though. Way too much of a change.
But, I did create a premise like this in much more detail (to the point in where I was not only developing the gameplay but also the story and stuff) that was basically a mix between Halo and Star Wars: Battlefront.
It’s an awesome idea, if you want to see my project files and stuff (including designs for new vehicles and stuff) message me. But, I just stopped working on it. Although, I did send it through to 343 to have a look at before I completely stopped.
This is far more inovative then the stuff we are getting pumped year after year and most of these things wont change gameplay but will give players a variety of character species to choose from in the Halo Universe
Yea just trying to get this idea in the heads of the developer for future console Halo it would be a nice change Almost like and closer look at Halo Wars or something
These seem like features better suited for an MMORPG or something along those lines and not a first person shooter. The thing that makes first person shooters easily approachable is because of one thing. They’re damn simple. You don’t have to rack your brain over combo strings or gear bonuses or specialized classes that can only do certian thing and impact gameplay dramatically.
I see where you are coming from but i am not saying its as complicated as a MMORPG it is just like this the Brutes have a bigger hit box so they need something like rage to give them when they are getting killed too often. Flood has zombie like traits becuz they are essentially the Halos universes Zombie. So the Floods infective ability would only occur after getting kills then it could spawn the same amount of freeroaming zombie scavangers these would consist of regular infected spartans and after 3 kills you get a slightly slower moving exploding zombie(with the hitmarks you will be able to tell if your zombies are hurting anyone but they are relatively weak(3 Shot Kill) just like H4 turrets but they can only melee(which takes down 1/2 of the shield 4 hit melee total for kill).
The Flood Species don’t lose limbs but they can have holes in their body frame or torn of head and things of this such. These things dont change anything its just like if halo wars aspect came into the Games multiplayer and gave the people more options to choose new Character models to play with and small incentives to choose a certain class over another theres no huge difference tho.
I’m just saying this would be another major change and since it would be experimental in the next game if it were done it could lead to another game like Reach. Good by all standards but a bad Halo game because the new features were poorly implemented. Then you need the next game to fix everything like what Halo 4 is doing.
No more these mini games, there are more than enough with grifball and Infection/Flood.
Not to mention Action Sack will eventually gets it’s own playlist.
This idea has been around since Halo 2. It is in no way new. It also wouldn’t work for a wide range of reasons, and I doubt Bungie, 343i, or any other associated company has ever considered it, or ever will.
