New Forge should have Casual & Pro modes.

I think it would be a great idea for H4 Forge to have 2 separate forging modes that affect the budget and selection of objects.

Casual mode would have the largest possible budget and every forge object available to use.

Pro mode will be specifically for pro forgers to build FR/lag-free competitive maps for use in MM and MLG. In Pro mode you would have a more limited budget to work with, and limited to only objects that don’t have lights or any other frame rate eating features. In other words, if I build a map in Pro mode and use every bit of the budget and every piece, it should still qualify performance-wise for things like MM and MLG.

Using objects sparingly to avoid frame rate issues should not be a forging skill anymore and instead, a built in feature.

Your thoughts?

Personally, pro mode should be Forge as a PC program. You would be able to upload custom blocks and pieces and have access to many features that are common in PC map editors (for example, WC3 World Editor terrain editing). Of course, this probably isn’t very realistic if Microsoft keeps shunning unregistered third party content like it is the plague. Consoles (really just Microsoft) need to step into the world of modding and stop being so paranoid about mods.
