There are actually some unique assets that allow you to build something that looks more like a real map. Multiple, very different Forge environments with unique skins on all the Structure items. Duplicating, magnets. All great stuff. But there’s so much missing.
95% of the Structure items are exactly like they were in Reach. And some of them are, and always were, bad/ugly… and I didn’t want to see them again.
Magnets are great… except that they aren’t always in the right places. Some items only have magnets in the center of a side, while others have them on all the corners… and you can’t line them up without turning off magnets. I wish we could just level two items together without having to use the sparse magnet points. Like if I’m using Coliseum Wall for a floor and I want to have a bunch of bridges or platforms off of it, I can’t use the magnets for that.
The precision mode in Reach was okay… I was excited for them to fine tune it in 4. And yet, it’s just gone?
The maps: Ravine is okay, Impact is cool, Erosion is too crazy. We need some big outdoor environments like the Blood Gulch section of Forge World. Even better yet, bring back Forge World! Why the heck not?
Also, I’d like to see a few more buildings that aren’t ugly/clunky… And more decorative stuff. What about a crashed Pelican like on Ragnarok? What about plants? Maybe a couple of trees?
I don’t know how feasible a request this is, but I think it could make Forging a hell of a lot more productive: Grouping. Lock a few items together to easily duplicate them all and drag to the other side of the map.
Also: Toolbox. Save groups to a sort of favorites list that’s persistent whenever you’re on Forge. So you can reuse pieces you like.
