New Flood Options.

Flood isn’t what I thought it was going to be. The way the Flood are now, I feel like we’re killing mutants not Flood Forms. I would like to ask you what you feel about some of these options to bring the Flood to life.

  • Flood can assassinate human players. This won’t necessarily kill the player. Instead, a random infection form will assimilate the player in real time while being held against their will by the Spartan Form.

  • Flood players will look more like the Flood. In campaign, the host bodies were more mutated and unrecognizable then the current Spartan models and had infection Form tendrils extending from their chest cavities.

  • Giving the Flood players random weapons from a limited pool of weapons will make them more threatening to battle against. Removing Armor Abilities from Flood Loadouts will ensure that Flood players aren’t too overpowering to survive against while ensuring a “classic feel” while battling them.

What do you think, everyone? Do you have some other suggestions?

Good ideas. I like them all except the random weapons for the flood. Thruster pack should not be available for the flood. But the sword in my opinion should stay.

Thank you, for the feedback.

To be fair, we’ve never seen a Flood infected Spartan until now, so 343 had full control over how they looked. The Flood you linked are Brutes and stuff.

Fair enough. Still, any semblance to the original flood forms (flood tendrils for instance) would have made them more flood-like and would have made them look less like mutants.

I truly want some of these options, including some improvements i thought of, but if all other installments in this series are an indicator, none of this will ever happen.

You just have to accept the fact that the game designers and/or developers become “lazy” after release, and focus primarily on making maps or fixing glitches, rather than improving their games.

I hated Halo: Reach for the fact that NONE of the HUNDREDS of small simple additions the community asked for were ever implemented. All we got were fairly crappy modifications of existing modes by Bungie (343?).

Some ideas to add on to ones you listen include:
-If a Flood kills a human with one of their randomly assigned weapons, this does not infect them. It only kills them and prevent them from respawning.

-Elite infection forms.

-Alpha zombie appearance is visibly different than other forms, either via bulk, sounds, or color palette.

-Two-way infection. Not really possible now what with the idiotic choice to move from Halo;s previously fun and unrealistic Infection by adding Flood appearance than tie-down the theme of Flood. Basically, slayer, but any kill you make adds that person to your team, and vice versa. Tug-of-war of sorts.

I was hoping that Halo would improve as a series in regards to gameplay and options, but it seems, inexplicably, 343 WANTS to remove options, rather than add them.

Anyone know how to make it so only a single, endlessly respawning Alpha Zombie exists, and zombie infections don’t result in a regular zombie? I want to recreate Halo 3’s Preadtor modes, but I can’t find any option to allow a respawning Alpha Zombie, but no regular zombies.
