new fight combact in H4

My idea is a new fight system in close combact.

Deleting the double melee, i can choise:

  • single melee
  • frontal assassination -> kill (an animation like as the assassination, that kill the enemy.

This type of assassination could be maked by a combo (two or three keys).

Another idea is the possibility to get rid from assassinations, by another combo. The result could be like as this:

The consequences for gameplay could be:

  • less use of close combact (animations is more lenght), so more tactic.
  • more spectacular dynamics.

frontal assassination = cool, but will be abused, and if not administered properly, will be OP

and to the assassination counter= pointless, that will make sneaking a pointless gesture, if i find someone not watching their back, i deserve the kill, not them

halo has always been a mixture of CQ, long range, and vehicular combat, taking away one of those will ruin the delicious formula that makes Halo special

Most of what makes Halo special has been grotesquely deformed anyway.

And This really is not a good idea. They should have just kept to the halo 3 assassinations, these extended animations just waste time.

did reach deform halo in your opinion?

i like assassinations,

remember, they ARE OPTIONAL, in reach, you can choose if you want a quick “beat down” to save time, or you can chose to do an epic kill animation

Exactly. The animated assassinations were even said by a Bungie employee(Don’t remember who, or in which vid-doc) to be something optional so that you can get a little extra satisfaction from a nice little piece of brutality. If you don’t want to watch it happen, then don’t. Just love tap them in the back and go onward.
