New faction

Brutes…BRUTES…flush them out! They have so much to offer to the halo universe and besides books or comics you really dont get to see their technology and culture. This would be your chance to really flush them out and adding a 3rd unique faction.

Brutes would be great. It will be too early in the timeline to introduce Prometheans, but I think that would be pretty cool also.

If the teaser trailer is to be any indication, Brutes are going to be a major player in the campaign.

The Flood?

Please i want to play as the flood. Halo wars showed off the flood, but did not allow you to play them. I want to control a hard of unstoppable monsters that have great advantages and disadvantages to their faction.

The Flood definitely need to be (and I’m sure they will) another faction to play as… it’d be great too for there to be three separate campaigns a la how Starcraft was, where you can play through each faction’s story. Loved the first Halo Wars, this game could be incredible now that they’ve established how well it works on the console!

Halo campaigns generally focus on the UNSC or in the case of Halo 2, events that are better explained (and are aligned with the UNSC) via direct play.
I doubt there will be a Flood campaign, unless for some reason the Flood was helping the UNSC. Which would be unlikely except for perhaps in the way that infected Jenkins (it was Jenkins, right) helped.

A Sangheili campaign would be somewhat more plausible if it focused on the insurrection or post-insurrection events, although again unlikely because those events don’t happen until much later in the Halo storyline vs. the events involving the Spirit of Fire. But it could happen I suppose.

The trailer made it look like the Brutes were the main bad guys.

Good calls across the board. I’d be good with just playing as the Flood in multiplayer, like they did with the Covenant in the original Halo Wars. It seems like it’d be a huge missed opportunity to not include a Covenant campaign of sorts in the game though… you could have UNSC missions and Covent missions spanning the same story ark, then have them come tie together somehow for a final handful of missions where you could choose which army you’d want to use to take down a greater, mutual enemy threat like the Flood (or, like Sigge87 said, the Brutes) to finish the game. That might be too complicated (especially the Brute theory considering this is long before the Covenant Civil War) but surely they want to do something along those lines, right? Regardless, I’m stoked, and unlike the first game (where I didn’t get into the multiplayer all that much), I’ll be all over it this time!

its a bit far fetched but maybe a forunner faction or a promethean faction

That probably won’t happen, though it’d be pretty cool if they pulled it off… the events of the first Halo Wars took place long before Halo: CE, and it’s the same chronologically with the sequel I believe so way before the events of Halo 4. My bet is a UNSC / Covenant campaign, with those two factions as well as the Flood available for multiplayer.

A Covenant campaign is possible this time around. I read somewhere that Ensemble had tried to include one, but it came down to time and money preventing it.

We will know more when we know exactly what time frame the game will be inside the halo timeline.

Red team better survive and kill those Brutes.

Flood faction would offer for some very unique gameplay as their primary method of troop production would be to infect other players units. Obviously you would have pure forms, but they would likely be expensive as hell. Perhaps a flood faction could work off an entirely different resource system? Instead of building supply pads/warehouses they instead infest areas of the map (such as destroying forests to convert into biomass) and/or infect animals/civilians/humanoid units which they could take back to their hives and convert into resources.

I don’t feel as if a forerunner faction will be available.

Brute technology encompasses the same as the Elite technology. Forerunner is really the only other faction left along with the flood.

brutes have very powerful tech but their rage and ignorance is what keeps them back
