Have you seen the latest Canon Fodder? If not, you probably should go and have a look. Only one community question was answered this week, but it is certainly an interesting one. After being asked whether the Ark had a monitor or not, Grim responded by quoting one of the Halo 3 terminals, the conversation between Guilty Spark and [REDACTED], which refers to itself as “All our makers once hold dear. Alexandria before the fire.” Apparently, this is the Ark’s monitor.
Before, some people thought this was Mendicant Bias. Now it doesn’t look so clear. Grim does say, however, that we won’t have to wait very long to get to the bottom of this particular mystery.
Hence, I’m starting to think the Ark theory may hold some water.
Nope that was in reference to the new book that is coming out called Hunters in the Dark. In fact the title of the book is hidden in those last few descriptions there.
Doesn’t mean we won’t visit the Ark, but this isn’t evidence of it.

Well the book is supposed to take place on the Ark. So it’s more than likely that well meet this monitor in this book.
This was relating to the new novel Halo: Hunters in the Dark.
Wait, some people actually thought that was Mendicant Bias?

People think everything is Mendicant Bias.

Mendicant Bias is love. Mendicant Bias is life.

All of this -Yoink- cracked me up.

Mendicant Bias was buried in the Ark, and we know that he had some form of control over its systems when the Chief and friends got there.
It makes a lot of sense to think it was him, with what he was trying to do at this time.
It’s funny because I was trying to think of a question to ask in Cannon Fodder and I was helping my friends do the annual achievement at the same time. So then I posted that question and it got picked!
i was surprised that I got picked and surprised for the answer.
Maybe those giant forerunner birds are on the ark…who knows

Well we know that Mendicant Bias was buried on the Ark. And we also know that the Ark had a formal monitor to oversee it. The monitor that chats with Guilty Spark had control of the Ark’s systems and was able to deny Spark access to the same systems, and identified itself as “all our makers held dear” (something tells me the Forerunners didn’t hold Mendicant Bias very dear).
Occam’s razor states that, between multiple hypotheses that predict equally well, the hypotheses that makes the fewest assumptions is the more likely to be correct. My money is on the Ark’s official monitor, and not Mendicant Bias.
