New Enemies

We all know that the Covenant and the Prometheans will be back in Halo 5, but what type of enemy do you wanna see in Halo 5? Do you want to see the Brutes make a comeback? Fight an army of Forerunner Warrior-Servants (soldiers)? Let me know your thoughts in this topic here.

I really dislike Prometheans, didn’t really like the way they played. They don’t seem to fit aesthetically. If you look at the sentinels and other original forerunner tech from the original Halos, the Prometheans don’t even look close. I want brutes to come back so bad. Id love them to start a war with the old covenant (under control of the arbiter) and have the storm faction covenant vs old covenant vs brutes and the -Yoinking!- prometheans start appearing chopping brutes in half with their sword things and then the unsc start -Yoinking!- sniping from pelicans and then a single flood spore comes from under the ground and the arbiter looks at locke like we gotta go. and then boom thousands of flood spores come out infecting every -Yoink!- thing. the prometheans are over run and everybody is fleeing. then covenant spec ops elites drop in pods to protect the arbiter and he makes his way to the ship.

That would be sick.

(sorry about punctuation)

I feel the same, they don’t fit the imagery of the established Halo universe. However 343 wen’t and pretty much messed up all kinds of stuff with Halo 4, the chiefs armor…handed over with the dumbest explanation ive ever heard. They just changed crap for the sake of change. Halo 4 didn’t have any charm to it, the aliens were dull etc, no humor.

The Prometheans were new to this trilogy, so I feel there is no need to introduce a new enemy. Re-introducing an old enemy would actually be a nice twist.

I’m right there with you Max2107. Also, to the others who replied, I thought that the Prometheans were kinda odd. I mean, the head of the basic Knight looks like Megatron’s face from the explosion fest that is the Transformers movies. If the Promethean’s designs are gonna be different than in Halo 4, then I’ll be fine with them. As long as the Watchers don’t come back, that’ll be even better. Ugh!! They were so <<yoink>> annoying! On Legendary, they were a nightmare! What do u think?

The Prometheans looked different to the sentinels and most other previously seen architecture because they were warrior-servant constructs as opposed to builder constructs.

I want to see the Brutes, Flood, and Sentinels return - all with brand new variants, ranks and specialisations as well as new variants of Promethean.

I’m right there with you. I had the idea of a “Promethean Harpy” in mind along with some Forerunner marines, other Warrior-Servant classes, and even some new Brutes, like a “Berserker” class. Why a berserker? Let’s face it, they’re bat-yoink crazy when they rush you with a hammer or go berserk. Who knows what 343 is gonna bring to Halo 5! I’ve also heard rumors that human Insurrectionists are gonna appear, lead by a guy wearing a MJOLNIR armor knock off, but it’s all rumors and speculation.

I’m fine fighting Covies, Prometheans and Flood all together and at the same time. That should be enough.

Same thing here.

I want the brutes skirmishers and drones to come back. But most of all I want new promethean ranks.

I want to see a promethean knight with the spikes from the alpha crawler all over their bodies.

Then I wanna see another rank that is like a spec ops rank. It has active camo.

I think a cool idea would be promethean sentinels.

Yeah. But I don’t want them to be similar to the Watchers. They were a pain in the <<yoink>>!

I want to see the Brutes, Skirmishers, and Drones to come back. If the Prometheans must come back, I sincerely hope their fighting style changes. They were not fun to play against at all. Not even on normal. They were bullet sponges with crappy hit detection.

I don’t know and don’t care.
But simple as that: If no new enemies will appear, the game will feel so conservative that noone will be convinced by it, if he is not a Halo fan.

You know the feeling when you are waiting on an elevator and it doesn’t appear? And after some time you are convinced that it is driving circles. No? But that’s almost the feeling if nothing groundbreaking new will appear in the next game. This includes mainly enemies.*

As far as I noticed Halo is based on mysterious stuff, too. In my oppinion, the whole gamemakres are far away of doing that job alright, but if their next game fails in that aspect, too, and nothing new will appear.
… I am sure Treyarchs CoD will top it. And you can imagine - that this will be … … not good for this franchise.

Nah man. They wouldn’t be anything like the watchers. Just sentinels with a promethean skin and maybe promethean weapons

Heres all the enemies i want back:

  • Brutes- The floodHeres all the enemies i don’t want back:
  • The storm faction- Promethians

So if I’m reading this right, by deterring the storm faction that means we lose elites, grunts, jackels and hunters.

So just brutes and Flood back? That’s kinda boring.

These are nice ideas

How 'bout 343 introduce us to some Insurrectionist enemies in Halo 5? Whataya think of that?

Absolutely not in the games. It just wouldn’t work in gameplay, mostly due to the hierarchical structure of the enemy types we fight. Fighting humans would just be boring, and fighting rogue Spartan IVs or insurrectionists equipped with a Mjolnir knock-off would feel contrived and too ‘comic booky’.

  • Brutes- Flood- Some new alien faction, but not one that just pops out of nowhere.- Supernatural entities, I think Halo could make ghosts and -Yoink- work well. Maybe.
