New Difficulty Idea for Reclaimer Trilogy

It would be pretty cool and new to see Mythic right under Legendary. Maybe it could have the chiefs helmet on the shield instead of an elite skull?

Oh and considering Elites are no longer the enemy and its a new trilogy maybe the skull of the new main enemy will be on the Legendary shield?

Thoughts?

Great idea. However, mythic difficulty would only be available to those who have found all of the skulls… granted there are skulls in the game.

Then mythic will be a legitimate difficulty!

Agreed.

You should have to beat all the other difficulties and find the all the skulls first. Before it opens up for you to play it.

i think instead of skulls there should be forerunner helmets? like in halo legends’ forerunners were always wereing those mask helmet things. run around collecting those?

I think it would be better if some skulls were on Normal, some on Heroic that includes Normal skulls then Legendary would have all skulls. Might be to repetitive to have to beat all difficulties.

Also, I agree with your previous post. You should have to find all the skulls and beat the game on legendary to unlock the mythic difficulty.

I’d prefer skulls because it feels more like Halo. But I do like the idea of collectable forerunner devices, maybe there could be smaller forerunner devices to find.

What we really need is a difficulty between Heroic and Legendary or between Normal and Heroic.

The transition from Easy to Normal and Normal to Heroic was a steady climb. Legendary was a huge step from Heroic.

As for Normal and Heroic,

Normal has the realistic health, damage, shield recharge rate, and AI rank frequency (no bias towards blue or red Elites). Heroic has the realistic AI, AI/vehicle/weapon occurrences (i.e. that second Laser on The Covenant), and shield strength. Throw in Famine and Iron and you get the most realistic Halo difficulty ever!

That would be reasonable.

I also think there should be skull tiers:

Platinum colored skulls = skulls that affect both player and AI
Gold skulls = skulls that affect only the player, player’s hud
Silver skulls = fun skulls
Bronze skulls = skulls that affect only AI

So

Platinum = Mythic, Tilt, Famine, etc.
Gold = Black Eye, Fog/Cloud, Blind (after all, this one is very deceptive. Very easy to find but it’s effect is overwhelmingly powerful. It deserves a step up), Malfunction
Silver = Cowbell, Iron, skulls that don’t affect player or AI, Boom
Bronze = Catch, Thunderstorm, Grunt Birthday Party, IWHBYD, Grunt Funeral

Notice how all the fun skulls are next to each other. :3 Skull ranks will make skull selecting more easier for the new players and convenient for the pros. They will also add to the speculation. Imagine seeing 9 Platinum skulls. That will make skull hunting even more exciting! Anyone with me? :frowning:

Or better still, they could take reachs consept of the gold elite rangers and take pads, you find n kill a ranger or what they have inveted now, it would have to be special though, it drops intel to give you clues where to find the skulls

I like that. Kill some cloaked guy and he drops a device with a very simple and kind of hard to understand map.

I think thats an awesome idea. Have the Mythic difficulty hidden untill you complete the entire game on at least Legendary and collect all the skulls that could be hidden around the campaign. Also they could include other collectables or hidden things, like the Data Pads or the Terminals. I think they should hide extra things on Mythic difficulty, for example lets assume they have Terminals in Halo 4.

On Normal, Herioc and Legendary the Terminals are just like the ones in Halo 3, different text per difficulty. Mythic could have the Legendary text, plus a bit extra, whether it be a bit more insight to the universe or even hints at upcoming Hlao events, such as a new novel or the next game. This would be a huge reward for the players that actually manage to conquer Mythic difficulty.

And why not just have skulls on Normal - Legendary? Why not have extra hidden skulls on Mythic Difficulty that you can hunt down? This will give Mythic players a bit more of a challenge plus give it a bit more replayability, having to hunt down extra skulls. These skulls would only be available to find on Mythic difficulty though and could add some more interesting aspects to the campaign.

I think it would be better to have terminals on whatever 343 was planning because the people that like them might not be willing to spend a week on one level trying to find it(i say a week because I assume mythic is REALLY REALLY HARD). But I think Mythic should have its own collectables. I thought of this a while, what if there was one collectable that unlocked another spartan suit for campaign? Since 343 said they were doing multiple versions of chiefs suit, why not let us see all the prototypes to? The collectable suits would be in a menu before you enter campaign and they would not effect the story but simply how you and friends playing with you see your chief. Maybe even use it on multiplayer just to show off? It would give you some bragging rights. lol

Yeah Mythic is really hard lol, Ive attempted it but not done very well lol. As for the terminals I agree that they should be some parts focused on 343’s plans for the future, what I meant was on Normal, Herioc and Legendary the terminals could have some sort of story to them, just like in Halo 3 with the Didact and Librarian or the Data Pads with the Assembly in Halo Reach, but on Mythic in Halo 4 the terminals could have an extra bit on it hinting at future plans. Its will be really difficult to get to yes, but the reward would be huge for Halo fans.

As for collectables, I love your idea of seeing the prototype suits. In Halo Reach we can fully customise our spartan for campaign, and I think for Halo 4 we should be able to do the same but in a more limited fashion as we are playing as the Chief after all. So when you get the unlock the prototype suit you can choose to select that armour for the campaign instead of the normal suit that the Chief wears. And having it unlocked for multiplayer is an obvious must have. To really show people that you have conquered Mythic.

Maybe on the last level you could find a Forerunner helmet and then you get a forerunner suit, it would make the game a lot easier even on Legendary but you would not be able to go in matchmaking with it, however if you play campaign matchmaking then people will see your chief with the awesome suit. Maybe it would have way more shields, if you jump with it you’ll go a bit higher, run speed is raised, melee damage is raised, maybe there could be a Forerunner wrist sword that is always right on the suit and acts as a secondary weapon or maybe you could have for example an assault rifle, a pistol, and with a hit of the D-pad you will see an awesome sword, and last maybe a Forerunner version of night vision that will replace the chiefs flash light.
