So the new maps they’re adding into CTF are Relay?(Yawn) And Exile. Why not Simplex? I honestly find it the most enjoyable CTF/Slayer map in the game by far.(Haven right behind.) And what I mean by “Yawn” for Relay. Is that it’s a pretty open map… Doesn’t seem like it would be that enjoyable for a CTF map. I enjoy Relay for Slayer. Never seen it or thought of it being a CTF type map. Unless they used the AGL cut down version of Relay. Also known as Dispatch. I also enjoy the CTF setting for Simplex. 15 seconds for flag return. And when you or someone else is standing on the flag it returns quicker. Meaning for a more fast paced game. I was playing CTF for majority of the day and found it extremely annoying having to defend my flag for 34 seconds… If they just rushed and touched it. It was reset to max time limit. Meaning they could just constantly run in and touch until they scored. I understand those settings for a large map like Ragnarok. But seeing how it’s the only BTB map in CTF it shouldn’t effect how all the other maps are played. Also annoyed with how every game one team gets 1 flag score up on the opposing team they just base camp the time limit to win like 1-0 or 2-1. It’s slow and annoying.
Simplex is better than any of the default or dlc maps. Nedds to be added.
I honestly don’t even know why it’s not being added into the rotation of maps. Also. I hope that Exile doesn’t have either Gauss or Scorpion Tank for CTF. Because all that’s going to do is introduce spawn camping with those two vehicle’s for 15 minutes -.- I mean holy crap I can use the Mantis on Ragnarok and spawn camp a team. Just earlier I went 40 an 2 or 5(Can’t remember exact amount of deaths.) Anyways what I’m getting at. Is that if you introduce these two vehicle’s into a OBJ gametype it’s just going to produce more spawn camping kiddies to stat pad even more.
Simplex is the best map in the game! Relay getting put in CTF before Simplex is just crazy.
I am pretty disappointed Simplex isn’t in there. Would you mind showing me the link where this is stated though please? I haven’t seen it.
The info you are looking for is a bit down the page. It starts right under the Spartan holding a flag thrusting to the side.
Thanks :)!
> Additionally, we plan to offer several of the best community Forge maps in this playlist and will continue to update the map pool on a regular basis to keep everything fresh. Additional details regarding the playlist will be posted before it launches, so keep an eye on the Matchmaking section of our forums.
Lol. Several of the best? Simplex received the most positive and least negative feedback.
Several of the best, yes… Just not THEE BEST.
343 is afraid to put it in matchmaking because casuals would get destroyed. Also CTF is 5vs5 I think and Simplex might be too small. Either way it should be in matchmaking.
343 should be giving us above and beyond what we want. Not just sprinkling in maps and game types one grain of salt at a time.

Actually, with even teams… 6v6 on that map was intense. The middle of the map saw more action. Cramped but amazing. 5v5 is fine as long as the match is evenly made.
Honestly, I’m more peeved about CTF being 5v5 gametype than I am about the map selection… Why can’t we just revert back to the traditional 4v4 that worked oh so well?
I honestly don’t mind it being 5v5. But I think 5v5 will work just fine on Simplex.
Relay and Exile -.-.
It should be Simplex and Lotus instead! Or Dispatch!

Relay, Exile, Dispatch and Simplex. I haven’t played Lotus yet to have an opinion about it. But I’ll accept yours and agree with you.
Simplex is essentially a smaller version of Dispatch (which is a variant of relay). Should’ve put in Dispatch instead of relay IMO

There’s the problem, the lobbies are not evenly made, I end up in far more lopsided matches then fun close matches, usually by the half way mark it’s a lnadslide.

Simplex and Dispatch actually play a lot different than each other, but I agree about Dispatch being a much better version of Relay.

Gauss Hog, Banshee, and Scorpion have been removed from the version of Exile that will appear in the CTF playlist.
To those of you asking about other maps: we plan to regularly introduce new maps into this playlist. Thank you for your feedback.

Please include Simplex, Lotus and Dispatch. Relay has a lot of problems with sight lines and uniform elevation as well as a lack of incentive for movement that Dispatch successfully addresses. I’m not sure if it’s a pride thing for 343 to not want to admit that Dispatch is a better designed map than Relay, but please don’t sacrifice the quality of the multiplayer over hard-headed pride on the developer’s standpoint.
Also, why can’t Haven have symmetric start points and work as a CTF map? It’s a perfectly symmetric map and is big enough to support 5v5 fine. If necessary, it can have proximity returns and flag at home to score like Simplex does in Forge Test. Honestly, I’d prefer if the whole game had that for CTF, but I digress. Also, please drop the Infinity CTF idea quickly. Adding personal ordinance to objective game modes is just going to encourage stat-padding and kill -Yoink!- after a team gets 4 captures, as well as introducing a randomness factor and unfairly adding power to one team at irregular intervals. On Adrift, the team that gets the first cap and gets a power weapon for their ordinance from scoring the flag can just play defense the rest of the game fairly easily, especially now that proximity returns are added for the smaller maps.
Also, either return the 1 Flag variant or used the glitched versions of flag map variants/gametypes that function as 1 Flag for Abandon and Complex. Playing 2 Flag on a totally asymmetric map is extremely unbalanced and just a terrible idea from a developer’s standpoint. You’d think that would have been obvious enough to a team of supposed Halo fans and veterans, (or anyone with common sense of how gametypes and maps are ideally paired) but I guess not.

Well that’s good news. Thank you 343
