Okay so we have seen the new style of the covenant ships a few times and I wanted to know what other people think about it. I personally would love to see more of the older style ships in Halo: 5. And I am cool with the new ships as long as the do not completely replace the older ones. I noticed in the new opening cinematic that one of the screens along side lasky and palmer displayed a ship of the older style and it makes me think that they are just adding newer style ships along side the ones we already know.

I think the new style will grow on me once the game comes out.
I personally want to see a mix. Quite frankly I want more covenant ship variants but I don’t want to see the old ones vanish either.
The new style ship looks cool, but am I the only who thinks it looks like a male genital?
I like the new ones. I suppose they are new sangheili made.

Well the holo panel during the briefing shows a CCS/CRS.

Ehh, not sure how I feel. They kind of have a toyish aspect to me, but I’ll reserve my judgement for when I play the game.
I actually really like the new designs, I think they are going back to the smooth organic alien look that they had in ce and 2. I think they’ve become a bit more industrial looking in the recent games, but I’m excited to see more of halo 5’s designs.
I actually like the 3 new ships we’ve seen so far.

It is also possible these are not so much new ships as already existing ships that have just never been given images. I mean we have never actually seen a covenant Frigate.
I like most of what i have seen from the new Covie art direction. I think it shows a good variation of old and new. I would like to see the addition of some of the other units ( Buggers and Brutes ) but I understand that there are limitations as to what can be done.
That grunt face still reminds me of Arnold getting sucked out the airlock at the start of Total Recall though…that’ll probably stick with me for a while.

I liked the old Covenant ships. But have you ever wondered how they were made? Maybe the old ship-makers were effected by the Great Schism in a way they had to compensate for it, and made new ships? Its an idea.
