UPDATE 12/21/2015 AT BOTTOM
Hey everyone, so I thought that I would try and make some new content ideas for Halo 5.
The way this will be laid out will be Matchmaking Playlist layouts and then REQ items.
Don’y get me wrong, I find nothing wrong with the current layout of playlists. I’ve been playing Halo since 2004 and have always enjoyed the game. I consider myself a very competitive player, but I will not let that determine my playlist idea thoughts. As everyone knows, Halo 5 had a severe lack of needed and classic playlists that everyone enjoys. There was a lack of social and dynamic aspects to the game from launch. Now, I know that 343 has been implementing things as time goes on, and we can not blame 343 Industries entirely. Remember, they have a parent company called Microsoft.
With that being said, I think that when you open the Arena option from the main menu of Halo 5, it should give you two options, “Ranked” and “Social”. From there you can choose the drop down list of the two respective categories. This is simply for organization. I will now list what I believe would be great playlists for Halo 5.
RANKED:
-
Team Arena [4v4] - Team Doubles [2v2] - Team Objective [4v4] - Breakout [4v4] - FFA [6] - SWAT [4v4] - **Team Snipers [4v4]**SOCIAL:
-
Team Slayer [4v4] - Big Team Battle [8v8] - Multi-Team [2v2v2v2] - Fiesta Slayer [8] - Head to Head [1v1] - **Infection (when put in) [?]**So, as I said, I’ve been playing for a while and brought some of my favorite playlists to this consideration. Most are explanatory, but some of you may not understand some.
-
Team Arena will stay as it is, however Breakout will be removed from it. Team Arena will act as almost an “MLG” or “Team Hardcore” playlist. Your traditional Team Slayer playlist with the addition of a Team BRs gametype to jumble up the AR and Magnum start and keep it fresh. - Team Doubles will also incorporate a Team BRs gametype variant as well as a CTF gametype. - Breakout will feature your traditional Breakout, as well as your Arena Breakout. - SWAT will have a bit of a switch up in that SWAT will be primarely BR start with the occasional SWATnums gametype to keep things fresh. The reason for this is that SWAT has always been about the BR or a precision weapon of the same caliber, i.e DMR. - Team Snipers will not feature a secondary. Your only weapon will be the UNSC Sniper Rifle and the occasional Beam Rifle placed on the map. - Multi-Team will be four teams of two, so a maximum of eight people with a mix of slayer and objective gametypes. - Fiesta Slayer will be a FFA total of 8 people with the winning score being 25. Each person will spawn with a random weapon every time they spawn. - Head to Head will be the classic 1v1 playlist from Halo 2 and Halo 3 if any of you remember that. It was taken out of Halo 3 pretty early. The winning score will be 15.Now with my recommendations for the Matchmaking playlists layouts, let me move on to my REQ item ideas. These past two updates have introduced plenty of items, as well as already have a ton from launch. I’m not complaining though, you can’t have too much. Especially for people like me who have everything unlocked already. With these last two updates 343 has introduced some classic emblems from previous Halo titles. From what I’ve seen, there are plenty more that people want. Here are some of my emblem recommendations:
BLANK EMBLEM - For all of the minimalist out there who do not like any emblems.
CLASSIC COBRA EMBLEM - Classic Cobra Emblem from Halo 2.
CLASSIC HAWK EMBLEM - Classic Hawk Emblem from Halo 2.
CLASSIC SPIDER EMBLEM - Classic Spider Emblem from Halo 3.
CLASSIC DRONE EMBLEM - Classic Drone Emblem from Halo 2.
CLASSIC CROSSHAIR EMBLEM - Classic Crosshair emblem from Halo 3.
MONITOR EMBLEM - Monitor emblem for forge fans.
I’ve also noticed that Halo 5 does not have a true white or purple visor. There are of course purple/pink variants but they are mixed. There is also a visor titled “Frost” but it is not a true white visor, but instead a silver visor. Here I have a purple visor titled “Plasma” and a true white visor titled “Chill”.
Someone of the forums made a thread a little while ago about have a similar process from Halo: Reach in regards to Firefight voices. It talked about being able to unlock voices for your spartan during matchmaking when they call out and speak to one another. So, I made some REQ cards with possible voices on them. Of course there could be much more, these are just a few.
For my final set of ideas, I have two helmets. With Halo: Reach being my second to least favorite Halo to ever be released, I do have to admit the armor variations were nice. With that being said, I really enjoyed the concept of the Haunted Helmet. I figured I’d go ahead and attempt to make one. Now, for you Red Vs. Blue fans, you may know of a character by the name of Sharkface. I also attempted to make a helmet based off of his first armor design. These helmets I think should be unlocked through achievements in game as opposed to random REQ unlocks. I say this because everyone enjoys being rewarded for hard work, it’s what makes people do things. Here are the two helmets:
HALO 5 HAUNTED HELMET - Unlocked by achieving the “Lone Wolf” Achievement (Complete the game on Legendary solo)
SHARKFACE HELMET - Unlocked by achieving the “Fire Drill” Achievement.
I really hope you guys enjoy these ideas and recommendations, I had fun making them! Let me know what you think would be good implementations or changed to my ideas. I plan on making some more in the future, such as an Emile themed helmet and a “First of Rukt” and Gravity Hammer series of REQ cards. Let’s here that feedback!
UPDATE 12/21/2015:
I made six more items to share with you guys! These are all REQ items of course, earned through the REQ system. The only item I will be showing that will not be earned through the REQ system is the armor.
First up are the vehicle variants, the Covenant Reaper and UNSC Hornet. Their descriptions are in the picture.
VEHICLE SHOWCASE (REAPER/HORNET)
Next are the Gravity Hammer variants that I’ve seen everyone always asking for. In here we have the regular Gravity Hammer, Shock Wave, and the Fist of Rukt. Their respective descriptions are also in the picture.
The last item I want to share in this update is an Emile tribute helmet. I was never a fan of Halo: Reach, but I can not deny that a lot of the armor was appealing.
The Emile Tribute helmet could be earned by completing the “Gravelord” or “Hunt The Truth” achievements. I like the idea of the Gravelord achievement being the reason due to the throwback to Hyabusa being earned by the same concept.
UPDATE 12/22/2015
The newest installment to vehicles is the UNSC Sparrowhawk. We have the Forerunner Phaeton, the Covenant Reaper, and now the UNSC Hawk to all rival one another.
The Hawk would act just as the Phaeton and Reaper do, an airborne stealth vehicle. The description is found on the photo.
Next we have the EOD helmet. The EOD helmet had been around for a while, ever since Halo 3 with some slight adjustment to the design. It was tough getting the shading on this one, there is still room for improvement.
UPDATE 12/23/2015
Here I present to all of you three new skins: Demon, Ivory, and Nova.
