Regarding the Halo 3 Campaign, many people who’ve already played the game so many times have become bored with the enemy positions and the replayablility for the game, no matter how good it once was, would have worn off by now. It could be time to add something new.

Ai placements.
One aspect of the Halo 3 Campaign that has become repetitive and dull for many is the AI placements in the missions. People who have played so many times roughly or exactly know what they’ll be fighting against or with. They all know that under the AA Gun at the start of “the Ark” when you’ve killed all of the opposition under it, there are Hunters that are dropped down by a Phantom. It would be great if there was a toggle in the Game Settings for the Missions in Halo 3 where you can enable the new placements for troops.

Ai and Weapons.
For fresh additions of new Ai, I would say that introducing the Engineers from H.3:ODST as a way to make an encounter more difficult could be a new enemy type that could smoothly be introduced into Halo 3. In addition, some Butes in the new placements could use the Brute Plasma Rifles as the altered version that was recently added to Halo 3 Multiplayer. Possibly a new type of Shield Jackal could be ones with Normal Plasma Rifles. ODST’s could also have Automags and Silenced SMG’s in sted of Battle Rifles and Assault Rifles to introduce those weapons into the game.

Swords of Sanghelios
The Elites and ex-Covenanat under the Arbiter in Halo 3 are called the Swords of Sanghelios. From now on, I’ll refer to them as the SoS. I think that having more encounters with the SoS in this new version of the Halo 3 Campaign could be a good way to add more flare to the game and friendly AI. Unfortunately, the difficulty in adding these would be that the player could sometimes mistake friendly and hostile covenant forces. I think, however, this is worth the hastle of engineering situations to only have a friendly OR hostile version of the same AI in an encounter. This could result in amazing experiences, like advacing on a defended position with both Scorpions and SoS Wraiths by your side.

An Ecample of “The Ark”.
Regarding the beginning of “The Ark” and it’s first encounter, it could be reworked so the ODST’s and you could advance on the position with Automags and Silenced SMG’s and fight against Brutes and Jackals with those new Plasma Rifles I was suggesting and when you defeat them, an SoS Phantom could drop off two friendly Hunters to aid with the next encounter.
Mods will help with that. Let’s not encourage 343 to change even more stuff for no good reason.

Okay yeah saying “haha yeah mods” isn’t a good answer I hear it too often. Most people cannot use mods yet would still love to pay with new content, and I mentioned that there would be a toggle for it so you can choose to have it or not. The new content would also work for Halo 3. And there is a good reason, that being that new content that doesn’t strip literally anything from the original game that so many people would support.
I would honestly just hope for a degree of mod support on Xbox, rather than random arbitrary new content for 1 game campaign.

I cannot imagine the backlash that massive changes like this would bring. This is absolutely, and solely, the territory of mods.
It
Would
Be
Optional
I don’t see why there would be backlash for this where it is optional. Please inform me, would you personally have anything againt it. If so, why?
Oh god the “it would be optional you can opt out of change” crowd. Nah man, optional or not is irrelevant. There are plenty of issues as it is like H2A multiplayer’s lighting problems that deserve more attention.
Once mod tools are out for all games there’ll be official support for custom maps and likely even steam workshop support, then you can beat Ruby’s Rebalanced Halo 3 as many times in a row as you like.

I don’t see what’s so hard to understand, 343 could add a new mythic hard difficulty to the campaign’s with new enemy placements and things, but there’s no indication that they should or will, it would literally just be an official mod anyway.
Mods are optional, and if consoles can get modded map support, there it is.

Wouldn’t be much but the drone ranks from ODST and maybe the engineers. And the gold Hunters.
Have you ever checked out the content that was deleted from the original campaign?
I think that naturally any new version or remaster of the Halo 3 campaign would have to come from a place that respected bungie’s version of Halo. That said, especially with Joe Staten on board I would be trusting enough to want to see a remaster of Halo 3 that also restored content that was cut from the original game in the process of its development.
Would love to see an HD remake of the game, complete with the level “Guardian Forest” and a new version of the mission “Cortana” based on the original bungie ideas for the level that were cut in development (long story short it starts with a creepy set of cortana’s footsteps that you track through the area Halo 3: ODST style and then ends with a battle between a Cortana controlled scarab and gravemind (with Chief onboard.)
Would also love to see some of those campaign cutscenes with blur style extended animations, because damn Halo 3 was more cinematic and beautiful than many games released today.
