I know the Halo 4 soundtrack was “good” but I don’t really think it stood out especially when compared to the other Halo soundtracks. The soundtrack of Halo is one of the most important pieces about Halo, no doubt about it. I just stumbled across this track from Hans Zimmer, did Inception, Crysis 2 <–look up the main theme it’s badass and MW2 theme. Tell me this doesn’t sound Halo’ish:
and tell me this guy shouldn’t make the Halo Xbox One soundtrack. Sorry Neil but it’s the truth.
Well the title was a bit misleading I thought you were going to be some theorist about the next halo’s campaign and how you saw a “leak” detailing how there was a new forerunner composer. Well anyway— I enjoyed some Neil Davidge’s work. I just think that his best tracks were not played often enough, otherwise I think he has a chance of creating some very memorable and fitting halo music. He just needs a super catchy song.
I don’t really think Halo needs any more action movie style music. As good as Hans Zimmer is, I don’t think he should be in charge of Halo’s music for the next game.
No. That was very nice, but Halo 4 had many chants, and at least they sounded sci-fi. The Forerunners were portrayed perfectly by the OST. This song has a more fantasy tone, especially the first bit. Sounds like The Lord of the Rings.
Halo 4’s main problem was the implementation of the music, not the music itself.

Yeah that was the main thing I found with Halo 4’s soundtrack, that none of the songs were “catchy”. I constantly find myself humming the Halo 3 OST but to be honest I didn’t really find Halo 4’s OST memorable.
That song is actually quite old. Zimmer made it to honour the death of the Aurora victims who were shot dead in the cinema, when watching the recent Batman movie. It is a variation of this one for those who are interested. I don’t think this means anything. People have been saying that Hans Zimmer should be hired long before Davidge was even announced. Personally, i still don’t think Neil is going anywhere…people would have heard about it by now.

I’d be chanting the Revival them while walking down the street, but I imagine a lot of people would look at me like I’m some kind of cultist.
