New community update, some good H5 stuff is in it.

New update… Assault is going to be replaced with covie Slayer… BOOOOO I want anniversary throwback… Some new pretty exclusive AR skins will be awarded to select few…Also a good link to changes to match making and CSR which I have in my signature. All pretty good stuff besides covie slayer.

Don’t forget Forge bug-squashing too! I’m sure there will be other goodies mixed in there as well. : )

And praise the lord split screen promised for all future halo fps!

Im fine with everything I read

Well now I have a reason and a priority to ditch my responsibilities to play Halo 5 whenever 343 does a community playdate.

Oh I am hyped for Covie Slayer. Really enjoyed it the last time it was around.

Also, why? Why did Halo Follower get into a community update? Is 343i not aware of how terrible they are or something?

Maybe they finally released a video that wasn’t -Yoink-? I dunno, I didn’t watch it. Might be crap as far as I care.

I’ve been out of the loop, what was said about black undersuits?

I am disappointed in 343 so much at the moment. They cannot keep permanent playlist even though they said that all the fun playlists will be in social. Therefore they have to be kept permanent. Not only that they did not tell us that they were going to take shotty snipers and TFT and I enjoyed those playlists a lot.

They just make videos on anything to keep themselves into the Halo scene

343, making bad choices for Halo since 2013. But all poking aside, 343 needs to stop pushing around the “casual” community and act is if nothing will come of it. Without the Casuals Halo will deteriorate into nothingness, ever wonder what got action sack going in the first place? Boom, casuals. Same for Grifball (to a certain extent), fiesta slayer, and even infection. The point being it seems like 343 is intentionally doing these things to drive away the players who enjoy the very few “fun” aspects of this game, namely social playlists as I too enjoyed shotty snipers.

All in all, it’s 343’s game, and if they wanna run it into the ground by being unable to cater to both competitive and casual players, that’s their business. I personally haven’t played social playlists in a while but social playlists shouldn’t be removed due to popularity cause what if one of the less populated playlists gets a clan doing a game night? No shotty snipes 4 u. It feels…frustruating to say the least when 343 does things like this and with HW2 out I doubt we’ll see ANY improvement on Halo 5 after the next bug fix the CU mentioned. Good hunting guys, the fun is scarce nowadays…

You know I am also Dissapointed about the BTB maps. Sure they are amazing but the fact that 343 can’t move their lazy bums and make some btb maps. They used the community to make those btb maps. What an ashame? 3 years of work and yet they were not able to make some btb maps.

First off the casuals have plenty of playlists to go to. 11 playlists are currently available for Social and Warzone. How this is running the game into the ground doesn’t really make sense in my opinion. Also, why keep playlists around if only a small percentage of the population is playing them? Yes, you may like them, but what good is that? If not only does it take really long for you to find matches, but also take that needed population from other playlists? What good is that game night if you can’t find a game?

343 did mention removing these playlists in a community update You Can Haz Recon 2.9.17. Granted it was a little after the fact, but they did explain it to us.

While it would be great, in theory, to have tons of playlists spanning every possible niche of gameplay, the reality is some playlists just don’t have a consistent enough population to support a good matchmaking experience.

> With this in mind, the team is looking closely at usage and will be doing a bit of optimization beginning this week. Triple Team and Shotty Snipers are being removed from matchmaking (for now) in part to make way for a new rotational playlists. We know there are players who enjoy the gameplay these two playlists offer but overall each of these hoppers attracts a tiny fraction of the online population and as a result can’t really sustain a permanent position in matchmaking.I think it makes sense and I’m glad they are keeping the playlists consolidated.

Thanks for posting this Lethal. I forget to look at that forum and sometimes miss out on good information. I liked the explanation of the MMR and CSR system in regards to elo. Good to know what factors into my ranks, and I do hope for an individual as well as a win/loss rank.

Something about them makes HaloFollower really hard to like for me, as well as a decently sized portion of the Halo community, from what I’ve seen. They have a tendency for clickbaity titles, ridiculous speculation, and a whole bunch of other issues that make me dislike them.

Clickbait maybe ridiculous speculation maybe but that’s a good thing.

Yeah it’s pretty important and relevant info. I tried starting a thread on it but it got locked since technically it is a thread already but I know very few from waypoint go into other topics.

I suppose it can be a good thing, but some of their theories sound absolutely ridiculous and I hate them.

Plus, I can’t stand the voices of some of their staff (and the mispronunciations…)

343 needs to do a lot more than just get a couple of guys to pull a weekender in order to produce a viable map, for BTB or for any other playlists. They devoted a lot of resources this time around to Warzone. Love it or hate it, that’s where your BTB map development budget went. And saying that 343 “used” the community for BTB venues is missing the entire point of the exercise - which was to involve the community more and to leverage their creativity. I expect that makes them feel “appreciated,” not “used,” but if you’re in doubt then you could feel free to ask a community forger whether giving them their own playlist was a good idea or not.

Over the last few months it has actually gotten better. I wont say you’ll like him, but his channel has grown a bit better.

Still some click bates here and there, but it isnt what it used to be.
