> A bit after 7, Frank O’Connor rolled in and asked if I’d be interested in seeing the campaign demo - again, what kind of question is that?
>
> It was a pretty short demo. <mark>It kicked off with John waking up to Cortana’s urgent plea - apparently, there were Covenant outside the Forward Unto Dawn, and they were pretty hostile. Chief’s given a new mission: get the power online, so the ship can protect itself.</mark>
> Graphics are pretty amazing - and what I was looking at was far from done. (Cortana was much more solid than she’s been in the past… part of the reason is to help us ‘connect’ to her, but another part was simply because the transparency shader wasn’t finished. Even as a work in progress, though, she was gorgeous.)
>
> The demo was pretty good at showing off some of the new engine’s capabilities - lighting, enemy overhauls, and the like. <mark>The climax was a scene very reminiscent of the Cairo Station docking bays (Phantoms even had accordioned tubes for dropping off enemies, just like the ships that attacked the Halo 2 defense platform - weird),</mark> and if the person playing was fast enough, you even got to see a new weapon. <mark>One of the Elites dropped some sort of energy-based rifle - sort of a giant plasma repeater. (The demo ended very soon after this pickup, so there wasn’t much chance to see it in action. Frank refused to answer questions about it.)</mark>

For those wondering why Cortana looks solid, the tranparency shader isn’t finished. A new weapon was also spotted. Campaign’s graphics are also looking good.

Oh yeah, the new weapon isn’t the railgun

> Oh yeah, the new weapon isn’t the railgun

The new weapons so far:
Sturmpistole
Assault Carbine
Railgun
Yet-To-Be-Named Covenant Rifle
Tornado Gun
Reaper

None of that is confirmed. I only take in official sources. I cant really trust the man who wrote the article anyway. He thought warhouse was warhorse…

Could have been a typo… or maybe he just dubbed it, but I am pretty sure he was at the convention. His details are too in depth for him to be considered a “troll”

Turn the ship’s power back on…it’s half a ship.

> Turn the ship’s power back on…it’s half a ship.

lol

I know they want to get us in the normal flow before introducing the new enemy and turning everything around but…I feel like they could’ve done without this rather forced feeling encounter.

> Turn the ship’s power back on…it’s half a ship.

Same I was thinking. It must be in decent condition if it’s also still able to defend itself despite it being sliced in half…

> I know they want to get us in the normal flow before introducing the new enemy and turning everything around but…I feel like they could’ve done without this rather forced feeling encounter.

I still think Sentinels from Requiem scanning the ship would’ve felt more natural then going “Covenant Pirates”.

Railgun = interesting.

So happy to hear this.

Your good at being spoiled… Tell me, why do you plan to buy Halo 4?

What does that have to do with anything? Just saying, turning power on a ship sheered in half which it probably only has basic emergency life support running things seems pretty silly to me.

If its anything like Modern Navy ships many of the system are work to the if section of the ships Breached/lost power and function and still be sustained whether or not FuD is implemented with multiple power stations if the back half has power and the function to lock down breaches it could possibly work and have many functions. which is what im assuming is going on in this scenario
