As a devoted fan of the series I tend to always run through Halo games on Legendary (Solo) as soon as I get them. The troubling thing I’ve noticed with anniversary is there are new “phenomenons” happening ONLY when I have the updated graphics on. When I switch to classic mode I have none of the strange bugs that are hindering my experience. I have only played the xbox version and I did NOT play the PC version of Halo C.E. so if these bugs existed in that build then I apologize for my ignorance on that part. I am only up to the Silent Cartographer and so far I have seen the following (Note - This is with no skulls/modifiers):
When a character dies from an explosion their guns (Primarily plasma pistols) get stuck in the wall and make a terrible grinding sound until I walk over and pick them up. Which is especially annoying if they are out of my reach.
Characters (mostly grunts so far) get stuck in some objects, but often are able to break free if they are still alive.
When using the plasma pistol I randomly get the sound clip of “charging up” after I fire a few regular shots. The charging sound remains for about 4 seconds after I have ceased firing and then stops.
Elite’s can melee away my plasma grenades. I have had 3 occasions on the level Truth And Reconciliation where I would throw a plasma grenade at an elite and if he melees right before it sticks him, the grenade gets smacked away.
Again, I have none of the above situations when I am playing with the classic mode turned on. I have no doubt that playing through the game on an easier setting I would really enjoy playing with the new graphics on the whole way through and fully appreciate the fresh look. In fact my original intention was to do just that. However these bugs, along with invisible enemies now being TRULY invisible, have made me switch to classic mode on several occasions just to be able to pass portions of the levels. Normally I am not the type of person to complain but I find this to be a major blemish in what was supposed to be a gift to the fans. I have hope that there is a patch in the near future for these types of things.
